Pump the brakes there big shoots. Let's everyone count to 5 and call a spade a spade here. Today they are releasing a COMMERCIAL. It's a sales pitch. They are going to tell you everything you want to hear whilst showing you as little as possible. Try not to shoot in your sweat pants until after you at least see what the beta has to offer. This hype train is why so many of you were disappointed last go around

  • It wasn't the hype train that disappointed, it was the 3-4 year build up that caused disappointment. Bungie talked too much about what they wanted to do vs what they could and were doing, and thus alot of stuff got mixed in that was never going to make it. This time, the first live thing shown about Destiny 2 will be what is in the game. We're, what, 3 and a half months out from release....it's nigh on impossible for them to make any large, meaning full changes to the game (but you could get a huge Day 1 patch that changes, but it still wouldn't alter the core of the game) So I think there is some room for a bit of hype, albeit hype that is balanced with wariness. Also, Beta won't be a way to tell either....because the Destiny beta was the entire first planet, so you'd played a 1/4 of the game without ever knowing it. PS: The size required for it is 68GB according to adverts I've seen on sites; Destiny as it stands now is about 45GB...which makes things kinda interesting.

  • You're not wrong my friend. But honestly I don't feel as though either of us are. It seemed at the time that it was a little of column A and a little of column B. We were definitely told things that never ever transpired but some of it was definitely over analyzed by the community before ever even seeing gameplay. Your definitely right though it is apples and oranges. Bungie can't come out today and claim it's a massive open world game 5 months prior to release if that's not what it is like they did waaaaaaay before D1 even had a gameplay trailer. It'll be interesting today. I love Destiny 1 despite what the loud minority say about it and odds are I will buy and play the crap out of Destiny 2 but it just seems like a repeat of pre-Destiny 1 going on. It will be a solid game but when you hype something up to a point in your head you are just setting yourself up for disappointment
