Chapter Thirty Four
Ragnarok was only a few miles away now. They saw the dark clouds that formed ahead and lightning struck at the island. Arianna saw the familiar castle atop its mountain in the centre of the island and the massive stone city that took up the entire east side of the isle. She knew the docks were on that side, but the place would be infested if anything here was similar to the last two islands. Then, she spotted a river. It made its way down the centre of the island from what Ari saw meaning it would come from behind the mountain.

Arianna silently looked up at the mountain, sighing as she began to direct their boat to the river's entrance. Isaac had gone to repairing his armor and gear with whatever materials he could find.
-
Isaac felt his thirst come over him again. His vision became a blurred red and he felt himself become weak. This lasted for longer amount of time then before but it subsided.
-
"C-Christ.." It was...the third time that Isaac had experienced the sudden flashes? He knew it was getting worse. It was either find a cure or die, at this rate. He had to keep going. For Irina, for Arianna - for Panta.
-
As the boat entered the mouth of the river and went upstream a light fog began to coat the ground and water. Arianna observed her surrounding and saw that every bit of life in the area had died. As she looked down river, she saw that the river made its way behind the mountain.
-
"This is just tragic." Arianna muttered, after checking on Isaac during his sudden episode of corruption. She remembered her promise to him: it would tear her apart forever, but she would do it. She continued steering the boat, through the river and watching the waters for undead.
-
She couldn't see any forms of movement what so ever. As the boat made its way behind the mountain however, Arianna spotted something. There was a cove to her right. It seemed to be cut into the mountain and the current slowed significantly within it. However she could not see what was inside it from where she was.
-
Arianna took her chances and once more, directed the boat into the cove, looking back at Isaac. "Ready up, kiddo." Was all she said, as she pressed onwards.

Edited by Inflatablepants: 6/5/2017 1:17:08 PMAs the boat came into the cove, the water became darker and algae rose up from the river bed floor to meet the boat. However, the massive cove had one large secret. There was an old tall rectangular tower that came out from the back wall. In front of it, a small stone-made dock. All of it was eroded and falling apart with the brick becoming mossy as the stone became broken.
-
"Jeez.." Isaac murmured, as the boat pulled up to the side of the docks. Arianna took the first careful steps, soon accompanied by Isaac as they studied and stopped upon the dock. "Guess this is.. some sort of outpost?" Arianna sighed, crossing her arms.
-
There seemed to be a door into the front of the tower that was connected to the natural facing wall of the cove. It was calm here, if not ominous.
-
Arianna was silent for the most part, as she and her brother carried onwards to the door. She went first, opening - or attempting to open - the door and peeking inside.
-
She saw that it was dark and filled with cobwebs. It's was cold, and dank. There was a wooden staircase that went up the walls and towards the top.
Conversation time
"So.. Isaac," Arianna thought of something that the two could peacefully converse about, and had a brief idea. "...You're feeling fine, right?" "Fine? Oh, er.." The silver-haired teenager stammered for a moment before he replied. "Yes. The infection's, erm... still growing and slowly corrupting my body, but other than that-" "Hey, hey. We're going to find a way to cure it. By now, you would think that the Celtics discovered some sort of treatment. These guys have been against the Undead for quite a bit now, Y'know?" "And if there isn't a magical cure that'll save the day?" "...Then I'll haul your skinny ass back to the Dojo myself and find someone who can." "...I'd be hopeless and dead by then, Arianna. But thank you, anyway. Just don't get bitten yourself and we should be fine.." Isaac murmured, checking his energy shielding on his arm as he followed Arianna throughout the building. The blue Arcane shield suddenly flickered onwards, before fading back into the augmented piece of gear. Isaac smiled, as he and his sister carried onwards:
-
As they made their way up the steps the wooden creeks ended as they arrived at the top of the tower. Ahead of them was a stone made tunnel. It was old and smelt musty like a mix of old grass and weeds. It was likely because of the dead overgrowth that covered the tunnel. Ahead of them though it became dark, and they could not see any deeper into it.
-
"Ladies first.." Isaac joked briefly, as Arianna smirked and shook her head. She carried onwards, although she took to drawing her sword upon her back and being wary against anything that would jump out.
-
As their footsteps echoed across the hall, Arianna and Isaac heard the patter of their steps from the water underneath their feet. They heard running water ahead but they could hardly see anything now. It was like they were walking through a dark abyss with no light to guide them.
-
Arianna hated the dark. She was usually accustomed to it due to her time in Yharnam, but she hated not seeing what she was up against. Each footstep was taken carefully, as if she was fearful that she would fall down into the abyss of darkness that the two were within, or worse.
-
Suddenly, the tunnel lit up with a flash of white light. It immediately disappeared but it repeated many times as the sound of gunfire banged and bounced off the walls.
-
Isaac's eyes suddenly widened, as both he and Arianna dropped to the ground - Arianna was significantly faster than him, so she was already upon the stone flooring before her brother.
-
However, they soon realized the sounds came from far ahead. The sudden flashes revealed to Ari that the cave turned up ahead. No bullets were being fired at them or around them.
-
Sighing as if relieved, Arianna stood up, although still crouching, as she began to approach the gunfire. Isaac shook his head worryingly, as he followed.
-
She came to a turn where as she looked right she saw a staircase. It was not pitch black where she stood now as she looked up and saw a wide opened door where the flashes of gunfire seemed to be coming from. She heard yelling. It came from a man, as well as a woman. But she couldn't hear them just right.
-
Arianna sighed, as she drew her gun and began to approach evermore - perhaps helping these people against their foes would lead to more allies..
-
As she walked into the room, all she saw was two torches that seemed to be taking place on opposite sides of a hallway that lead into the larger room. The dead creatures ran into the room but were dropped as soon as they ran past the torches by gunfire.
-
"Don't run past the torches," Arianna murmured to Isaac, who merely nodded and sighed - he had no firearms, which was a massive disadvantage for him since he was so good with guns. Arianna still had her pistol and nodachi/sniper, though she regularly used her nodachi. Arianna decided against charging in to assist the survivors, but instead began to wait to see just how many undead were actually there.
