"You really need to watch where you're going buddy." Marker said with a chuckle, quickly regaining his balance

"Ah, my apologies Marker. How have you been?" Cylus asks, greeting his friend.
-
"Same as usual, can't complain. Can't compliment." Marker laughed a little bit solemnly, looking down for a slight moment

"Ah, well we should catch up once again. I haven't heard from Carly since we went to the Station." Cylus says. "But, I'll be brief, as my friend is waiting." He pats Marker on the back and turns around to leave, never realizing that his log had fallen from his belt. The leather clad black book laid on the floor at Marker's feet. Before Marker could do anything, Cylus was already gone.
pick it up
-
Marker shook his head and knelt down, picking up Cylus' log. He didn't read it, simply stood back up and went in the general direction of Cylus
-
Maybe the first page of the log would contain Cylus' address for Marker to drop it off.
-
Yeah. Sure. That works
Marker took a quick glance at Cylus' log, skimming through to find an address
-
It simply read If you happen to be reading this, this log belongs to none other than Cylus, and its pages contain his story. My story. From vigilante to literal dead man walking, here I am to tell the tale. My only wish is that these words can be seen beyond my own eyes, and my tale be told when I am long gone. But for now, I am here, writing in this small leather book, waiting... Waiting for the day that my name is remembered, and I will know I have done something greater than myself. -The one and only Cylus. With nothing else on the page, there is nothing to do other than read on.
The first two entries are chapter 1 and 2, which are both above
-
Got ya
Marker sighed to himself, taking a seat on one of the benches in the courtyard and beginning to read
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 6/6/2017 2:11:06 AMDespite his efforts, Cylus was no where in sight. But as Marker held the book, a single black string dangled from its pages, inviting him to open it. After all, Cylus had said that he wanted his story to be known.
open
-
Feels dirty
Marker opened the journal to the stringed our page, reading whatever its contents were
-
lel

The contents of this entry are above
Despite the inviting first page of the book, the log seems to have a personal element to it. Something you'd have to feel to understand. The vivid descriptions of the unfolding events are enough to make one question how Cylus still stands, and the deeper you delve, the larger his enigma grows.
-
Marker didn't think too much into anything he read. He couldn't. This was personal to Cylus. Marker was only reading through it to find an address

Edited by BondyMilk: 6/11/2017 1:20:47 AMAt the bottom of the page, Marker found a footnote. ... And he would pay. ___ Report: The log seems to be working, and I write small entries each day to limit myself. I have found it easier to move on with this... Because somehow, it gives me a sense of closure. But as for now, this will be it for today, as I have friends waiting for me. Better be worth it, they're making me crawl out of bed for this one. Despite it being in the back of an armory, my home here is ... well, comfortable. I'll be sure to write again tomorrow. -Cylus
The nearest armory was only a hundred feet or so around the corner. Marker could walk there in less than five minutes.
-
"Sweet." Marker said mostly to himself as he got to his feet and walked towards the armory
-
As Marker approached, he noticed that the armory seemed to have been closed for the moment. The doors were locked and the lights were out, but through the window, a door to the backroom was visible, and light creeped from beneath it. This would most likely have been Cylus' quarters. He never seemed to mention where he stayed. Beneath Market's feet was a plain black door mat and above him was a small matching awning. The spare key would be somewhere around here.
-
"Armoury... Door mat... Really?" Marker laughed a little bit, getting down on one knee and checking beneath the doormat
-
:)
Despite what most would think, the key actually wasn't underneath the door mat.
try looking up
-
"Figures he'd be smarter than that." Marker put the mat down neatly and looked up, reaching for whatever was over his head
-
Sure enough, on the end hanging furthest from the wall was a key taped to the underside of the awning. It was black too, as to blend in with the material.
-
Marker grabbed it and pulled it off the wall along with the tape. Pulling the tape off, he pushed the key into the lock and opened up the door, stepping inside and closing the door behind him
-
The armory wasn't too large, just big enough to have a couple racks lined along each wall. Each was behind lock and key with thick glass, keeping thieves and potential accidents out. On the wall facing the entrance was a counter stocked with more items. The building didn't stand out much in the buzzing streets of the dojo, and it seemed that only a few people came in and out each day. Towards the back of the room were two doors, one with a sign reading "storage" and the other being unmarked. Light crept out from beneath the unmarked door, most likely leading to Cylus' room.
-
Marker moved forward silently and cloaked as he went, trying not to draw too much attention if anyone was in there. He stopped outside Cylus door and slowly began to open it
-
The light poured out into the main armory, and as Marker opened the door more, it was revealed that he was alone. The room was about half the size of the armory, having a bed in the corner against the wall, and other furniture to make it accomadable. There was a desk near the bed on the far wall with some of Cylus' gear sitting atop of it, as well as a couple of tools and papers. A chair was sitting in front of it, facing the door. In the middle of the room was a rectangular clear table, some books and more gear rest in on it. Even with the things lying about, the place felt clean and organized. Marker entered on the right side of the room, and to his left was a rack similar to the ones in the main armory, lined with weapons that Cylus often carried. However, this one was built into the wall, and next to it was a metal mannequin, presumably for Cylus' suit.
-
"Nice place." Marker placed the log on the table of the room, and uncloaked. "Homey." Marker chuckled lightly, leaving the room and going into the main armory, closing the door behind him
