Chapter Thirty Five
Cannon awoke to the conversation of two people. His hearing was impaired but it cleared as his eyes opened to the two individuals in front of him. There was Bella, the small 12 year old girl with the black curly hair. Then, there was the man who had helped Cannon before, Yuri. He crossed his arms as he spoke to Bella
"Bella..." he began. "I told you. Your father is attacking the Grenwalds as we speak! Many will die if we do not get you to him to prove their innocence!"
"I'm not going anywhere without Canny! I told you!" She rebuked.

-
Then, as they ran down the narrow streets, two green cloaked figures bashed through and blocked the threes path. They came from opposite homes on the side of the street and they both drew cutlasses and readied. "Tokage scum! You'll die! Don't think that having a child with you will make us shed sympathy!" The one on the left yelled.
-
Cannon limped to the front. "Unless you want to make an enemy of the dojo, let me and my friends pass." He ordered in his most commanding tone.
-
"The dojo? You think we'd fall for that?!" The right man asked. "You're cloak tells us a lot of who you are siding with ass hole!" "Men, please!" Yuri stated. "This man truly is a member of the dojo, while I AM a member of the Tokage. But I do not wish to fight you! Neither does the little one!"
-
"Step aside. You harm us and you'll have an army of modernly equipped soldiers here within twenty-four hours."
-
"Ya, right. We're just gunna let someone pass through here who happens to be holding one of our comrades blades?" He left man gestured to Cannons cutlass. "Peace my ass. You're just a religious nut who needs to be put down."
-
Cannon dropped the cutlass. "You want this war to end? Let us through."
-
"No one has to die anymore! Don't you see?! This entire war is silly! We can all just get along!" Bella exclaimed. Her words had actually seemed to faze the two warriors. "This war...it's really rather stupid." The left Grenwald said. "But we were born into it. It's in our blood. How do we not know you three will just pass through here, make contact with your people and then fight against us?" "Come with us." Yuri suddenly said. "The only way to bring peace is for Tokage and Grenwald to be seen united."
-
Cannon nodded in agreement with Yuri. He was beginning to think ruabing into this with his injuries was a vert very bad idea.
-
"What?!" One of them asked. "Walk into the Tokage lines? With YOU? How do we know you aren't just going to turn us over?!"
-
Cannon leaned on the sword he'd dropped, which was sticking point down in the dirt. He was begining to wonder if this was all worth an arm as his head began to swim from the varies injuries.
-
"You don't know! But if we want peace we will have to be willing to take risks!" "By "we," you actually mean "us," right?" The right man asked. "Seems like us grenwalds are the only ones taking the risk here."
-
"Then take me along as a hostage." Cannon replied. "If they attack you, threaten to hurt me oe something."
-
"Ya when everyone is a sharpshooter with a bow and we are vastly outnumbered that won't work." The left man said. "The idea was good enough I suppose." "Why don't you just walk with us?! Normally, I mean!" Bella exclaimed. "We want peace so we should act like we have it!"
-
"That... Might work." Cannon agreed, leaning heavily on the sword.
-
"Maybe, ya. As long as you vouch for us." The left man stated.
-
The mando nodded. "What are your names?"
-
"Hiebert." The man on the left introduced himself. "I'm Abraham." The right man said. "Hello, Abraham and Hiebert. I am Yuri. The little one here is Bella Tokage." He said. Bella smiled and waved. But then, the two men lowered their weapons with a bit of a shock. "Wait." Abraham said. "Bella Tokage? As in, of the Tokage family?!" "Yep! And I'll vouch for you Sir Ham that I will vouch for you!" Bella exclaimed in her usually positive demeanour. The two grenwalds looked at each other and shrugged. "Well. I suppose that can either give me peace of mind or completely destroy it." Abraham said.
-
"Let's go with the first of those options." Cannon replied. "Name's Cannon Lok, from the Dojo."
-
"Ya...we'll see about that." Hiebert said skeptically. "Well no point in wasting time. Let's move. But uh...you guys can take the lead."
-
Cannon picked up the sword and with difficulty took the lead. He was definitely limping hard.
-
Bella then walked beside him and held on to him, trying to hold the man up. "Can...are you okay?" She asked him as Abraham and Hiebert walked behind Yuri.
-
"I got frostbite, sliced at least five times, lost an arm, and have gone almost thirty hours with no food or rest.... I'm fine." He shook his head to clear it and kept walking.
-
"Oh...." Bella said softly. "Well...we are almost at the end of this! We just...have to talk to my father. And then...the Grenwald leader."
-
"Yeah..." He took a pained breath and kept on. "If I suddenly pass out, keep going. Alright?"
