My fiancee and I are quite fond of board games and tend to play them frequently. However, playing the same games over and over again can get predictable. Recently, two new board games caught my attention, but I'm not sure which to invest in.
Arkham Horror and Mansions of Madness both look similar and very interesting. Arkham Horror seems to be the original game that spawned Mansions of Madness and other Lovecraft themed games, which makes me think that I should play this one first. Mansions of Madness seems similar, however the second edition has an app that allows for multiple player games without the use of a "Keeper" (basically a DM from the sounds of it) and also allows for single player games. I wouldn't mind being a Keeper, but I don't think my fiancee would be willing to play that role, which makes me lean towards the second edition.
If anyone has played these games, I would appreciate your input. What has your experience been like, which of the two do you prefer, and are they worth the price.
