At the bottom of the page, Marker found a footnote.
... And he would pay.

Report:
The log seems to be working, and I write small entries each day to limit myself. I have found it easier to move on with this... Because somehow, it gives me a sense of closure. But as for now, this will be it for today, as I have friends waiting for me. Better be worth it, they're making me crawl out of bed for this one. Despite it being in the back of an armory, my home here is ... well, comfortable. I'll be sure to write again tomorrow.
The nearest armory was only a hundred feet or so around the corner. Marker could walk there in less than five minutes.
English
-
"Sweet." Marker said mostly to himself as he got to his feet and walked towards the armory
-
As Marker approached, he noticed that the armory seemed to have been closed for the moment. The doors were locked and the lights were out, but through the window, a door to the backroom was visible, and light creeped from beneath it. This would most likely have been Cylus' quarters. He never seemed to mention where he stayed. Beneath Market's feet was a plain black door mat and above him was a small matching awning. The spare key would be somewhere around here.
-
"Armoury... Door mat... Really?" Marker laughed a little bit, getting down on one knee and checking beneath the doormat
-
:)
Despite what most would think, the key actually wasn't underneath the door mat.
try looking up
-
"Figures he'd be smarter than that." Marker put the mat down neatly and looked up, reaching for whatever was over his head
-
Sure enough, on the end hanging furthest from the wall was a key taped to the underside of the awning. It was black too, as to blend in with the material.
-
Marker grabbed it and pulled it off the wall along with the tape. Pulling the tape off, he pushed the key into the lock and opened up the door, stepping inside and closing the door behind him
-
The armory wasn't too large, just big enough to have a couple racks lined along each wall. Each was behind lock and key with thick glass, keeping thieves and potential accidents out. On the wall facing the entrance was a counter stocked with more items. The building didn't stand out much in the buzzing streets of the dojo, and it seemed that only a few people came in and out each day. Towards the back of the room were two doors, one with a sign reading "storage" and the other being unmarked. Light crept out from beneath the unmarked door, most likely leading to Cylus' room.
-
Marker moved forward silently and cloaked as he went, trying not to draw too much attention if anyone was in there. He stopped outside Cylus door and slowly began to open it
-
The light poured out into the main armory, and as Marker opened the door more, it was revealed that he was alone. The room was about half the size of the armory, having a bed in the corner against the wall, and other furniture to make it accomadable. There was a desk near the bed on the far wall with some of Cylus' gear sitting atop of it, as well as a couple of tools and papers. A chair was sitting in front of it, facing the door. In the middle of the room was a rectangular clear table, some books and more gear rest in on it. Even with the things lying about, the place felt clean and organized. Marker entered on the right side of the room, and to his left was a rack similar to the ones in the main armory, lined with weapons that Cylus often carried. However, this one was built into the wall, and next to it was a metal mannequin, presumably for Cylus' suit.
-
"Nice place." Marker placed the log on the table of the room, and uncloaked. "Homey." Marker chuckled lightly, leaving the room and going into the main armory, closing the door behind him
-
As he stepped out of the room, he heard someone unlocking the front door Cylus' voice soon became audible as he grumbled "Damn bakery... I'm totally worthy of the damn muffins. I was last time!" Looking up, Cylus didn't realize that Marker had been in the room. "Uh..." he said awkwardly. "I see you've found my place." Cylus continued, scratching hmthr back of his head. He seemed to be covered in what appeared to be bits of cake and muffins.
-
"Yeah. I was returning your log, which you left on the bench in the street." Marker said calmly, glancing inside of the glass cabinets "Nice place by the way. Good collection."
-
"Ah, thank you thank you." Cylus said, standing up straight. He brushed more crumbs off of his jacket. "So you're not gonna ask?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
-
"Ask? What is there to ask about?" Marker said, glancing over at Cylus
-
"Well for starters, I'm covered in some very delicious pastries." Cylus says with a chuckle, eating a chunk of cake off of his shoulder. "And second, about this whole "business" I'm running here."
-
"I can guess the cake bit. You were at a bakery, maybe provoked the owner so they threw that at you." Marker said, looking at the cake "And as for your "business" It's not of my own business what you do in your free time, as long as it doesn't interfere with the Militia. "
-
"Ha, you kind of got the first one right... Except the owner threw me at the cake. Crazy orc guy. Says you have to defeat him in combat every time you wish to eat." Cylus says. "As for the armory, I can understand what you're saying. Business is business. I've learned from experience that it doesn't always mix well with our personal lives."
-
"It's certainly a nice collection of weaponry though. Where'd you get the guns? I can hook you up a with a shipment of Militia Arms. They're rare, since we don't sell them off."
-
Cylus smiles. "That would certainly be great. As for my stuff here, I had a friend ship what was left of my collection on earth. Inter-dimensional portal or something he said. I chose not to confuse myself with the details."
-
"Ha. Yeah, I'll just write it off. We got one less shipment than we usually do. Or something of the sorts. Hopefully this doesn't make too big a scandal, after all I'm just providing for a fellow member of the Militia." Marker walked forward, patting Cylus on the back "Just make sure they're being sold to the right people."
-
"You won't have to worry about that..." Cylus says. "Between you and me, I always keep the best things for myself. Regardless, I'm always careful with my customers."
-
"Excellent! You'll have the shipment by the end of the week if you're lucky. Don't know when the next one is scheduled." Marker said, looking towards the exit "Now. Sell safe. Let me know if you need security, or anything of the sorts."
-
"I'll make sure to look out for it." Cylus says politely. "And thanks again, it would have been hell looking for that log in this city."
-
"Hey, it's not a problem. After all, what are friends for?" Marker said with a light chuckle. "Oh, and by the way, you want an update on the arc reactor?"
