Y'know, looking through Youtube comments is never a good idea and usually just ends up pissing me off, especially when it comes to videos about AAA games. There's always a ton of hate for the wrong reasons. I think people are just hating on the game because they hate everything EA does and were disappointed with the first game so they will hate everything they try now. That, and people are constantly comparing the games to the old Battlefront games (even the one that never came out) and saying it's bad because it doesn't copy the game they have so much nostalgia for. But DICE made their own game and wanted to make the game THEY imagined, not remake one already made by a now nonexistent company a decade ago.
I played and love the original Battlefront games, and I really liked EA's Battlefront. It was a great game and was tons of fun to play and they did a great job.
There were issues, obviously. There wasn't much to do with splitscreen, there wasn't much singleplayer content, the game was a bit too casual (which is good for appealing to a larger audience, but is bad for a lot of gamers who like shooters), the dogfighting was so simple it was awful, the DLC wasn't worth buying or even coming back for for more than a couple hours. The list goes on.
But Battlefront 2 really looks like it fixes a lot of those issues and more.
• All 3 eras
• Class system
• Better dogfighting (not just "get behind, lock on and shoot")
• The point system could be good
• Singleplayer Campaign
• Free DLC!
• A bunch of other sweet improvements and new stuff
I'm excited to play it. Not sure if I'm gonna pre-order or not but I'm sure I'll end up getting it anyway.

Are they adding bots to the multiplayer like the originals had back in the day? I miss that grand scale battle feel.
-
Don't forget the alleged increase in first person camera performance to where it doesn't feel like a detriment to you and everyone around you.

I'm tempted enough to get the Deluxe Edition again this time. I bought the Deluxe Edition for the first one, I was disappointed about the no-campaign thing but the rest was really fun. Now that it has so much more stuff and a campaign I'm definitely gonna like this game.

Yeah. I'm very likely to buy this game, despite having no interest in playing the first.
-
I just hope they keep hero cross play to hero-centric game modes. And I just have a few minor nitpicks. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Where the -blam!- is Obi Wan? Qui Gon?

No kamino map no buy!!!

Since I'm a die hard Star Wars fan I'm going to love the game either way no matter how bad it is. You could literally throw me a Jar Jar Binks simulator and I'd probably still love it, because Star Wars 😂 But anyway yeah the game looks epic so far anyway. I like the way they used the voice for all the Clones from the Clone Wars cartoon. I just hope we get to revisit some classic maps too like Geonosis or Bespin Platforms from the old battlefronts. A remastered version of them in future DLC would be a dream come true. I'm also so happy they improved the lightsaber combat ._. In the last battlefront it looks so stupid when you hit someone with a lightsaber you literally glide across the floor :/
The DLC is free too! Never did I expect this from EA lol
Edited by Oxide: 6/11/2017 5:41:04 PMPeople are getting mad that Rey was there with ham Solo and boba fett. And I'm just here like If you going to nitpick non canon shit look at the most obvious part. THE BATTLE OF THEED DIDNT HAPPEN WITH CLONES. They weren't even deployed until the next episode. And they are already phase 2. I don't care it's just funny. I'm super hyped for the game

The shooting looks SO much better.

Pretty sure no one was angry for those reasons. The only thing wrong with AAA games nowadays is the complete lack of depth/detail. Shallow in everyway. Judging from the gameplay, it looks like it's predecessor. So, I'm assuming it's going to be just as bad.

Edited by CAD1420Z: 6/11/2017 10:06:08 AMFrom what I have seen, even if it's all pre-alpha footage and gameplay, it looks goddamn amazing and like a proper Battlefront game. Definitely going to get it, and already have it pre-ordered. That said, I can definitely find faults with it's predecessor and can understand why people would be leery of EA Battlefront 2. I, personally, don't see them as sharing any of the same problems so far, but that's just me. For me, so long as point-and-click guns that can be whipped out and fired in a split second aren't in the game, I'll be happy. The same goes for Explosive Shot. That star card makes no goddamn sense and is overpowered as shit despite DICE's best attempts to balance it.

After seeing the EA reveal yesterday and a bunch of different gameplay videos on YouTube I preordered the deluxe edition. It's gonna be liiiiiit 🙌🏼

I never played DICE's recent one, just the old ones on my PS2. But that trailer just won them a new customer. It looked so much like the OG Battlefront 2 I played for hours on end.
