Sakki and Sheet walked into the social hub, And Flow followed them in.
“Woah, is this one of those secret hubs! I've been hanging around here for about 4 hours and didn't find a thing. At least I can save my progress safely,” Flow said.
“Sakki, now that we're in a safe zone, you should be able to turn in your quest,” Sheet said, opening his menu. Flow bolted over to look at it. Sheet immediately closed his menu. “Leave me alone.”
“Aw, but I want to see you're level! Are you a beta tester? I know they got to carry their stuff into the full release, but starting above level 100… you must have completed everything on Earth! Maybe even the moon!” Flow rambled, and Sheet opened his menu and turned in the quest while he wasn't paying attention.
“I'm not a beta tester. How long has the game been in ‘full release’?” Sheet asked.
“Huh? How do you not know if you're playing?”
“Have you heard of Smart NPCs?”
“Yeah, but… wait, are you a smart NPC?”
“Yes, and so is she,” Sheet said.
“Really? Wow, you guys seem so… human. How the hell are you made? I don't expect you to know that. What level are you?”
“I'm not going to say. But above 100, as you already know.”
“Sheet, I think I did everything right. I got experience points, and then used them all up getting subclass upgrades,” Sakki interjected.
“Oh, what did you get?”
“A suppression grenade, a jump ability called lift, a melee ability called disintegrate, and a super, called walls of light,” Sakki answered.
“Wow, a PvP build. That's just great, since you won't be doing anything like that until we get you a faction,” Sheet said, taking off his helmet.
“What's a faction? Why have the players never heard if this?” Flow asked, taking off his own helmet. He had green hair and green eyes. His hair was in a manbun.
“Well, you have to get to level 100. Then you have to do the shipbuilding quest and fly to the Tower. Hey Sakki, want to take off your helmet?” Sheet said.
“I'm wearing a helmet? I never noticed…” Sakki reach towards her face, and instead of feeling her skin, she felt cold metal. She grasped her helmet, and pulled it off. Everything felt bare, and she felt less aware of what was going on.
I can't display your health, the radar, or you're weapons unless you wear your helmet, so that's probably why things feel weird, her ghost informed her.
“Hey, ghost, can you bring up a picture-” Sheet began, but was interrupted by his ghost as it materialized next to him.
“Already did. She looks just like her,” his ghost said. Sakki felt an odd sense of care from the female voice coming from his ghost.
“That's crazy,” Sheet said, looking at a picture his ghost pulled up. Sakki approached and looked at the picture herself. She saw a girl with dark brown hair, so dark she thought it was black upon first glance. It was pretty short, only going down to her shoulders. She had light brown eyes, so that they almost looked orange. Sheet was also in the picture, looking surprised as the girl had seemed to have taken the picture of them without consent.
“So who is she?” Sakki asked.
