"Gah! What the heck ?"
A figure stood up from behind the knocked over tree.
"What was that for!?"
English
-
Cyra squinted her eyes very slightly when she heard the voice, her eyes adjusting to make out the figure. "Oh. Sorry," She called back, approaching slowly.
-
He appeared to be a kid around 19-20, brown hair, skiny, about 5'8". "It's fine, little warning next time?" He asked.
-
"Sure thing... although you were hidden from eyesight, in the middle of a forest, in the middle of the night. Normally, I'd assume there'd be nobody out here at this time... but I guess that there are exceptions."
-
"That there are. Welp, no harm done save to this poor tree." He chuckled and looked over at her, and she could clearly see his eyes weren't normal. The irises were a dark brown, but his pupils were silver.
-
"Right." Cyra had seen plenty of strange things... she was a strange thing, in fact. As such, she didn't even take note of the strange eyes. The woman turned away from the man, pulling another pen from her pocket, choosing another tree to fire upon.
-
He watched, smiling. "Why are you throwing those at the trees anyways?" His silvery eyes glinted in the moonlight.
-
"Can't sleep." She replied simply, throwing the pen. And, once again, it broke the sound barrier, tearing a hole within the trunk of the tree.
-
"Ah." He nodded. "Good throw."
-
"Thanks. Anyhow... what might you be doing out here, so late at night? Did my throwing awaken you?"
-
"I don't sleep much. Just walking around the woods since it's a beautiful night, and heard the sonic boom."
-
"I see. What's your reason for being unable to sleep, then...? Mine is that my mind is far too restless. It's a literal computer."
-
"A computer? Well, that explains the glow then..." He commented. "I just don't physically require much sleep, haven't exhausted myslef in forever, so I haven't needed rest in forever."
-
"Oh. Wonderful. I'm able to sleep, however with the amount of exercising I do... I sleep to relax my muscles, because otherwise, I'd be in for some serious injuries. However, I don't exactly require sleep, either."
-
"Interesting. So, you say you're part computer? I could tell you were different, you have a certain... Glow surrounding you. It's kind of unique, prettu even." He didn't appear to be flirting, just stating his thought.
-
Even if he was flirting, Cyra took no notice of the compliment; sure, she had the 'love' emotion recently programmed into her, however that didn't quite include flirting, compliments, et cetera. "Part computer is one way to put it. In addition to my cybernetic arm," She lifted her prosthetic limb. "My brain has also been replaced by a computer."
-
"Interesting... May I ask why?"
-
"... good question." She seemed to now want to direct the conversation elsewhere. "What about you?"
-
"What about me?" He cocked his head. "Or could you already tell I'm a weirdo?"
-
"Isn't everybody a weirdo in some way, around here?" She snorts, only half joking.
-
He doubled over and laughed. "Yep, that about sums up the planet!"
-
She waited for him to finish his laughing, before continuing. "I believe that you're avoiding the question."
-
"I'm technically a biological robot, programmed and built by some oddball alien a very long time ago." He shrugged.
-
"Ah, I see." It seemed as though social interaction wasn't one of Cyra's strengths; she lapsed into silence.
-
"So if you're a computer... Does that mean you've had all your emotions and such programmed into you? Love, joy, sadness, etc.?" He asked, cocking his head.
-
"Yes, actually... the latter two were programmed many years ago, while the former was only programmed in very recently. I still see no reason for it, however. Anyhow, is it the same for a biological robot?"
