Here goes
Marker called another pilot over, and said pilot took a seat to the side of them. "Dish em out, Holden." Marker said, passing "Holden" the cards to the new pilot Holden dished out two cards to both Cylus and Marker "I'll start off" Marker said, taking a look at his cards and then at Holden "Hit." Holden passed Marker a card than looked over at Cylus
Don't spoil what numbers ya got. Not until the reveal
-
Cylus nods. "Hit."
-
Holden passed Cylus a card and looked at Marker. "Hit." Holden passed a card to Marker, who nodded in approval "Stand." Holden looked back at Cylus, awaiting his call
-
Cylus furrows his brow and nods once more. "Hit."
-
Holden passed a card to Cylus and awaited his next call since Marker had already said "Stand"
-
Letting out a faint grunt, Cylus simply nodded to his hand. "One more."
-
"Risky..." Marker laughed as Holden passed over Cylus' fifth and final card
-
Cylus smirked a little and fanned out his cards. "Stand."
-
"Marker flipped his cards over, and laughed slightly at the hand. 2,3,5,9 "I got a 19. And yourself?" Marker looked at Cylus
-
Cylus chuckled as he revealed his cards. A 4,1,5,7 and... A 6. Cylus let out a breath and tossed the six for Marker to see. "I was on a roll... But then that 6 got me!" he says with a laugh.
-
"Bust. Terribly sorry..." Holden collected the cards from the two and put the deck on the table, getting up and leaving the two at the table. "Now then. Let's move out. Shall we?" Marker rose up to his feet and stretched out, looking towards the exit
-
Cylus rose from his chair too, yawning as he rubbed his eyes. He shot a grapple at his helmet which was on his bunk, and yanked it towards him. Strapping it on and pulling up his hood, he met Marker at the exit. "Lead the way sir" he said, patting Marker's back
-
"Don't do the sir thing. Just Marker." He said with a shake of the head as they walked down the hallway
-Ask him why he never takes off his armour -Talk about something else
-
"I know, I'm just yanking your chain." he says as they walk. "... But hey, what's a name without a face?" he says, looking directly at Marker's visor.
-
"My helmet is my face. No reason you need to see anything else."
-Pursue the question -Change the topic
-
"Come on! I don't mean to pry but... Has anybody seen your actual face? What if you have to sneeze or - or blow your nose?" Cylus asks. "These are legitimate questions." he adds
-
"I don't get sick. Only five people have seen my face. My two brothers, my father, my mother, and Jack Cooper. And Cooper only saw it when he gave me the armour I'm wearing now."
-
"Well... How do you eat? In the dark where nobody sees you? Because that's weird."
-
"I eat in my room, alone usually. I prefer the calm air of silence with the mix of my music." Marker said as the two entered the main area with Galactic map from before Even with all those planets on the map, it looked empty of systems and more...
-Pursue the question -Change topics to something else
-
"Those planets, huh? Gets you thinking. Sometimes just makes you want to take your helmet off and breathe." Cylus says in a hurried breath. He sounded like a child trying to figure out what his parents were getting him for his birthday.
-
Marker will remember that...
"Listen, maybe one day, when you're not just my brother in Arms, but my brother, when you've truly earned the name. You'll see why I never take it off." Marker sighed a bit sadly, looking down "Shit happened before I joined the Militia. I was a mess. Wrong crowds. Bad choices. You know how it is."

Edited by BondyMilk: 6/17/2017 4:32:31 AM"Well then I guess I'll leave you be. But just know, you're a walking enigma Marker. More so than I am. And know that I'll look forward to the day where you see me as more than just a comrade in battle."
-
"What's the point of a mystery if you know all the answers? Can't learn anything at that point." Marker said with another sigh.
-
"Absolutely right. And I don't mean to be this guy, but then I guess you could say that life is a whole mystery in itself."
-
"Maybe it is. I wouldn't doubt it." "After all, normality is just an illusion. Normal for a spider, would be utter chaos for the fly it catches." The two stepped out the headquarters, into the chilly air of the Mountains "Not to mention the whole mess up of timelines. Hell of a thing."
