That's why the Militia is developing a newer version meant for larger scale troop transports.
A few minutes later, in landed in the Militia's Paragon and he was escorted to the bridge, where he Met the Captain of the Vessel.
"You must be Cylus." The Captain said, extending a hand for a shake
English
-
"Yes, indeed I am. Nice to meet you Captain." Cylus says, shaking the man's hand.
-
"We'll be accompanying you into the Horse Head Nebula, where you'll rendezvous with the Invictus Crew and lead a small squadron of troops into potential negotiations or potential firefights."
-
"Understood. How long's the ride?" Cylus asks, checking the clock on his arm panel
-
"Horsehead Nebula is on the very brink of the Frontier, entering some uncharted territory even. It'll be a 15 minute ride."
-
Cylus punches in a timer. "Is it alright if I go get myself accommodated for now? I can meet you back here before it's time to leave."
-
"Just a moment, if you please. Have you been briefed on the situation?"
-
"Erm, not entirely. This would probably be the time to do so." Cylus replies
-
"The Invictus crew is a multiversal mercenary crew, as such They have a member of Noble Squadron aboard their ship, if you played Halo: Reach. I believe it was once a game. I digress, this member has a communication device set to emergency broadcast channels, sending the signal out as he traveled in hopes of finding more like him. He got a response."
-
"Huh. If I remember correctly, I played that game as a child on my Earth. Although the only surviving member of the Noble team was Jun." Cylus says, recalling memories of the sci-fi game he once played. "Huh... So who picked up his broadcast?"
-
"Unknown, we're only receiving jumbled transmissions. Hence why they're going to investigate, and need Militia assist."
-
"This ought to be interesting." Cylus mutters to himself. "And this is where I come in?"
-
"Yeah, you'll be heading the task force on board the ship, and potentially spearheading a path towards Negotiations."
-
"Well, it is how they say. There's a first time for everything." Cylus says with a nod. "Who is this task force that I'll be leading?" he asks
-
"Four Militia Rifleman and a fellow pilot. Private Micheal Colbs, Private Aaron Wilson, Private Marlene Glosser, Corporal Tim McGraw, and finally Pilot Cooper Horan."
-
"Ah, I should go introduce myself." Cylus says, taking mental notes of each name.
-
"They'll be at the mess hall, would you like an escort?" The Captain asked genuinely, wondering if Cylus would know his way around
-
"Eh, I can handle myself. Thank you for the offer sir." he extends a hand. "Once again, nice to meet you Captain."
-
"You as well, Pilot." The Captain said, shaking Cylus' hand.
-
Cylus nods before heading out, going by memory to the mess hall. He arrives and enters, scanning the tables for his team.
-
The squadron was in one of the front row upon entering the cafeteria, with them sitting around playing Uno
-
Cylus knocks on the open door, looking to the group. "Room for one more?" he asks
-
The pilot of the five looks over, motioning for Cylus to come over
-
Cylus walks over to the table and drags over a chair, sitting in front of the group of five. "The name's Cylus. The captain told me your names, but why don't you guys tell me who's who."
-
The pilot reached his hand out towards Cylus first, introducing himself as the leader "Cooper Horan." One of the grunts, a rather young man who looked no more than 22 nodded is head "Private Michael Colbs." A second grunt punched Cylus in the arm from his right, laughing and shaking his head "So you're the new boss? Name's Corporal Tim McGraw." A third grunt simply smiled, and it was obvious that they were a female "Marlene Glosser, private." Finally, a fourth grunt set down his cards and glanced over, smiling as well "Aaron Wilson, Private."
-
"Nice to meet you all." Cylus says, shaking Cooper's hand. "And yes, I'll be accompanying you gentlemen, and lady, to wherever it is Invictus needs us." he says as he nods to each one of them
