Hello,
Back in the the early 2000s me and my family went to Myrtle Beach. It was June or July I think, and I wasn't even 10 years old at the time. We got a motel right beside the beach, which was extremely convenient. And we just went to the beach everyday for a week. Everything was fine, if not perfect. My older sister just got a tan. And I was in the ocean, or in the Lazy River underneath the hotel relaxing.
Until one day...
The most cliche thing happened to me. I went in the ocean, pretty far to be honest. And my family looked liked ants. I'm pretty positive that was a very ridiculous thing to do. But anyway, I was way out in the ocean away from anyone. And I already don't like the ocean because you can't see under you. Freaks me out. Then out of nowhere... a fin pops-up.
*Gulp*
I didn't necessarily panic at the time. I thought it would just go away. I wasn't bleeding or anything. But uh, it didn't. I knew it wasn't a dolphin. Their fins are obviously different from a shark. I instantly regretted going that far. Thankfully, I knew not to panic. So I started swimming back. Not looking behind me. I was just about there until... it was right behind me. Now being a kid I started yelling loudly. It was way to close.
*Smacking the water*
It rubbed up against my leg. I cringed so hard. Then it went away. Possibly because I was close to shore. I ran up to my mom crying like a toddler. I felt embarrassed. I told her what happened and she obviously thought it was my "imagination." So frustrated I stomped off in the opposite direction. I still was positive it wasn't a dolphin. Or maybe someone playing a trick on me. But I'll never go that far in the ocean again.
- If you guys have some uncomfortable beach stories please share them.

I'm always worried in shallow water that I'll step on a crab or something, not sure why.

Edited by HeadHunter: 7/7/2017 8:20:50 PMThat is what sharks do when they see something they are curious about. They will swim up and bump into you or it. Ive have it happen to me several times. Dont let it keep you out of the water.

Same I hate the ocean. And sand. And the sun

What if Frank Ocean was in the Ocean? Would you trust it then?

One time I was fishing on crystal beach in Galveston using some pretty big surf rods. I pulled up a 3 ft black tip shark and watched the whole beach clear out real quick. People that are afraid of sharks are hilarious.
I ate it, it was delicious
I never went into water that was lakes or oceans only knee deep in lakes. I also only go on large bouts.
-
Water's a bit gay innit
-
if it rubbed against your leg it was just checking if you could be his next meal. sharks dont attack humans most of the time so this was kinda expected. if it was hungry or felt like you got to close it would likely have attacked. i wonder tho. what type shark was it?

There's too much water in the ocean. We must drink it all.
-
What a freaky fish guy... Right ....memes
-
I say it's much safer to be out in the ocean than be in town on a motorcycle.
-
The ocean is vast and beautiful but quite unforgiving. Can't trust it.

This is why I don't trust the ocean: https://goo.gl/images/ZVe2ey

I really like swimming in the sea.

It was 3 years ago. Me and some friends went camping qt some park down the street from lake michigan. We were having fun, rko'ing each other in the sand and playing volleyball with some cute chicks who asked to join. Everything was great, so much fun was being had. But then everything changed when the state of Milwaukee attacked. Only Magic Johnson master of the point guard position could stop them, but when Michigan needed him most, he was in Los Angeles.

Edited by HollowedWayfarer: 7/6/2017 6:33:15 PMSo you had a close encounter with a shark eh? Try living in Florida. For those who didn't know, the state of Florida in the U.S. is considered to be the number one place in the entire world for shark activity. Shark attacks are very frequent here and the sharks are so plentiful that you are at least 50ft or less away from a shark in the water. To add the bonus points, we have the three most dangerous sharks on the planet: the bull shark, the tiger shark, and the great white shark. I live on the gulf side of Florida and just a couple years ago, a local fisherman caught a great white from shore. Here is a pic of the guy: http://media.graytvinc.com/images/GREAT+WHITE+SHARK+CAUGHT.jpg And just a few days ago, someone caught this behemoth: http://a57.foxnews.com/media2.foxnews.com/BrightCove/694940094001/2017/07/03/876/493/694940094001_5491290989001_5491288131001-vs.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

wow usually the water is too polluted there for actual sea life
-
Did you get to feel the texture of its skin when if touched you? Do you remember what it felt like?
-
I've caught plenty of little sharks before, there's no reason to fear the water or what dwells in it. Just a healthy respect for what it and its inhabitants can do.
-
Stung by a jellyfish when I was eight or so. Uncomfortable in water I can't see through.

I recently bought Subnautica on steam. It's been 3 days and I still haven't left my boat.
