Cael had not expected the ball of fire explode, and the resulting blast staggered him backwards slightly, but he quickly regained balance. He made a motion with his right arm, his muscles relaxed and the motion fluid. The moisture in the air began pulling together to form a large, floating bubble of water; about a yard in diameter. From a distance, Cael controlled this bubble to extinguish as many fireballs as fast as he could. As he did so, he rapidly backed up–in case he didn't manage to extinguish them all.
