As the javelin made contact, it exploded–obviously. An explosion of extreme heat, also sending fragments of rock and ice in every direction. The explosion also evaporate all the water from the jet stream behind the javelin, causing a steam to rise up everywhere and more or less blind both Xeno and Cael.
Meanwhile, Cael focused on trying to save himself. Firstly, he used his earth magic to gather the strongest material he could gather from within the earth's surface–corundum–forming an massive spike that shot upwards from underground and, due to the ore's momentum, pierced the shadow sphere, allowing corundum to enter the sphere. It changed shape to surround Cael, making another sphere, which managed to block the spikes from stabbing Cael all over.
Secondly, the moisture in the air inside the shadow sphere but outside the iron sphere literally multiplied and gathered together to fill the space between the two spheres with water. Then, it proceed to completely freeze; the freezing water would expand the the space, yet the corundum sphere remained in place, and as such, one of the two materials would crack.
Corundum, being just harder than the shadowy material, would not be the first to crack. The expanding ice instead made small cracks in 4 centimeters thick shadow sphere. From there, Cael altered the thickness and size of his corundum sphere, making it thinner but a larger sphere overall, allowing the ice to further expand out and finally shatter the shadow sphere. The corundum immediately dispersed, causing Cael to fall to his knees on the ground, just barely managing to escape the sphere. He was, however, all out of energy, and could no longer continue to fight.
