Cannon set to work mending his wounds. He also injected a carapace knitter into the wounded clone's leg so he could walk. The clone left in a hurry and Cannon sat down, waiting.
-
Bedlam appeared in front of him, dripping blood from several bullet holes and cuts across his body. Iso was in his arms, unconscious with no visible wounds, but lots of dried blood all over her. Bedlam fell to his knees with a smirk on his face. "Got 'eem."
-
Cannon got up quickly and rushed over. Oddly, most of his wounds were gone... Thanks to his bacta possessing implants as well as his augmentations. "You two alright?"
-
"She's fine. Me? Eh." Bedlam rested the peacful looking Iso on the ground and stood up, leaving a puddle of blood on the floor.
-
"I've got a first aid kit and some bacta, will that help?" The Mando felt guilty now for being a jerk to him earlier.
-
"I'm...fine...." Bedlam held is head in one of his hands with a pained expression. "I've done worse than three arch's."
-
"You definitely don't look fine. At least let me stop the bleeding? I owe you that much." Cannon's voice went from cold professional to friendly and worried.
-
"Just...stay back." He took shallow breathes and stepped back from Iso and Cannon. "I'd rather just deal with this for now."
-
He frowned and took a step beck to follow his wishes, kneeling beside Iso. "If you're sure..." He proceeded to do a quick visual evaluation of her.
-
She had no injuries of any kind, just dried blood and unconsciousness. "She'll be fine."
-
"Thank you..." He whispered quietly, tentatively reaching a hand down and resting it on Iso's shoulder.
-
"I didn't do it for you. I did it for the woman I love." Bedlam sat dowm and sighed.
-
Cannon closed his eyes and stepped back, hoping Bedlam didn't mean Iso, but doubting he'd be so lucky. He sat down, leaning against a small tree nearby as he waited for her to wake up.
-
The night fell silent for a few minutes before he broke the silence. "Why did she never love me back?"
-
Cannon gazed at the ground, not knowing how to answer him at first. He finally decided in his slow brain that Bedlam must be talking about Iso, and decided a comment. "Maybe for the same reason she left me?" He barely whispered it, attempting to distract himself by fiddling with his gauntlets.
-
"No. She loves you. She never loved me the way I love her." A tear ran down his cheek. "After all I've done for her....She never gave me a chance. You know, I'm the reason she escaped WM? I sacrificed a part of me to break her out. She doesn't know that though. No one does....Well, now you do, I guess."
-
"Oh..." He leaned his head back against the tree. "I..." He almost apologized, but the small part of him that was still clinging to Iso wouldn't let him. She fell for him, not Bedlam. He wouldn't apologize for that.
-
"At least when I was in her head I was constantly with her and got to see her and talk to her...."
-
"You didn't have to get broken by her leaving like I did either. That has to count for something, right?" Having Iso leave after marrying him had hurt far, FAR worse than their first break up ever could. Giving his heart and having it torn out like that was a special hell.
-
"It's better to have loved...than to have never loved at all...." He looked over at Cannon with a smile. "They also say the one's that smile and laugh the most are the one's dying on the inside." Bedlam winked before vanishing. Iso stirred, waking up.
-
For a split second, that quote made the Mando think of his 'little' brother, Nomad. Then he saw Iso stir and all other thoughts were forcibly removed from his mind as he quickly kneeled beside her. "Iso?"
-
"Did I hear Bedlam? Oh, Cannon. Where's Traci?" Iso sat up, a confused look on her face.
-
"Are you alright?" He asked, ignoring her question at first to ensure she wasn't hiding an injury.
-
"A few systems are down and a couple are at critical levels of damage. Now, where's my daughter?" She looked around frantically.
-
"Bedlam said nothing's going to happen to her, now calm down for a second. You almost got yourself killed." He told her, trying to keep her from rampaging.
