The wooden door had swung open, revealing the 1st floor out of 7. It was a casual room, with wizardy furniture around it. Multiple fur pelts were hung up on the wall along with a bear skin carpet, rather tacky really. To the left was an enchanted fireplace, constantly aflame without needing Elsimore's attention. To the right was a spiral staircase that had circled the wall, leading up to the second floor.
Then a barely audible chittering was heard...as if it was some sort of insectoid below Gideon. Gods only know what the wizard kept in the cellar.
The old fossil of the wizard descended the staircase and into the den, wearing the stereotypical getup. He adjusted his spectacles and looked at the Mage.
"You look far more better now. Now tell me, why duel out in this forest? I mean the tower should've been obvious that somebody lived here! Nonetheless a rather...annoyed wizard. I ought to make your life hell with petty spells like Arberun would, but I'm willing to forgive, as long as you keep that racket down. I'm trying to study the magical properties of spider silk. Speaking of which, I must attend to it before I blow up the tower again. You may observe if you want, I don't care."
Thus the wizard rushed up the staircase with surprising speed for an old man to check on his experiment.
