Chapter Forty One

The massive four legged machine began its ascent up the steep slope of the Coldbourne's mountain. It had four massive steel made legs that attached to a massive steel body that was rounded in shape. In front of the machine was a giant drill that was almost the size of a building in its scale. It was pointed up as the machine climbed vertically upwards the mountain. At the top of the machine there was a rim of glass that allowed its occupants to look outside, but that being said, all of them were tightly strapped in.
Zane, Lyn and Falk all sat at the front of the machine, looking upwards and feeling the force of their altitude grow on them. The other miners were positioned around, typing in control boards and ensuring that the machine would continue to make its way up.

"Gah, I hate enclosed spaces....Can't I escort this machine from outside?" He asked.
-
"And what, climb the mountain side?" Falk asked Zane with a grin. "That would be like escorting a T-Rex Zane."
-
"I don't mind closed in spaces, but the idea of a giant metal machine encasing me doesn't sit well with me." Lyn observed what she could through the window.
-
"Well, I guess it is sort of unsettling." The man said. "That being said, this is how we are gunna take this castle."
-
"Id rather calmly walk up to the castle and slaughter everyone inside, then once I find twin slowly cause him great pain and make the bastard beg for death." He said coldly.
-
"Trust me Zane, no one wants to kill that bastard more than I do." Falk told Zane. "But the fact is, we have to play this as smart as we can. Or at least, as randomly smart as we can. I doubt he's planned for us to drill into his mountain, and that surprise is what we need."
-
"You realize if he knows that we're totally f*cked, right? Like, bent over without any warning?" Lyn sighed. "Just gotta hope for the best, I guess."
-
Falk chuckled at the girls comment as the massive spider like machine continued to climb up the mountain. Each step let out an audible "boom!" As the heavy legs slammed into the side. Then suddenly, the group saw that something up the mountain came loose. Snow fell down and slammed against the windows but the machine was fine. It was the massive boulder falling towards them that had them worried...
-
"Well then, shall I go take care of this problem? All it'll take is one swing from my blade?" He asked eagerly
-
"That would be a good-" Falk was interrupted by one of the miners. "Hold on folks! We got this!" He said as the drill on the front of the machine began to spin immediately. The boulder crashed into it, and power sprinkled against the windows as it was completely obliterated.
-
"You forgot we have a giant *ss drill on the machine, Zane. Are you really that eager to hit something?...Wait, we haven't really introduced ourselves, have we? I'm Lyndis, but call me Lyn."
-
"A pleasure Lyn. One thing you'll learn about me is that I'm a very impatient person. I've been wanting this bastard dead ever since he killed Alex."
-
"I think everyone has." Falk said. He looked at the two after he spoke. "Oh...sorry for interrupting."
you two may as well get acquainted for the next few replies. Do some back and forth for a little bit. Like 4 or 6 replies.
"I know the feeling. I didn't know Alex that well, but after they took Henry too...." She sighed. "I don't care who kills the man. As long as he dies I'll be happy."
-
"Well like I said earlier, I plan on making him beg for death." He said coldly "For Alex, and Xion. I will avenge them...."
-
"Please do. I'd rather not taste more blood. It's not good for me. I already ripped the one man's heart out and crushed it in my hand."
-
"Impressive, what man pissed you off to push you that far?"
-
"I wouldn't call it impressive....One of the Coldbornes." Lyn glanced down in regret for a second. "I've really screwed up a lot recently. I've killed too many without giving them a chance to live."
-
"Sometimes people just deserve to die. I use to give them chances like you do, but no more. I don't believe in second chances anymore."
-
"I refuse to let myself think that way. I want to be a hero, not an executioner." She replied.
-
"You remind me so much of myself. But I learned the hard way that even the best of Hero's eventually have to bloody their hands."
-
"Then I'll just be better than the best. I'll be the greatest hero of all history. I'll go down as the most fair and just hero to ever exist." She giggled a little.
-
He chuckled when she says that. "Well I wish you the best of luck with that miss Lyn. I certainly can't become the hero, not anymore."
