"You remind me so much of myself. But I learned the hard way that even the best of Hero's eventually have to bloody their hands."

"We shall." Falk said as the two walked ahead past the shattered ice. The room ahead of them was tall and massive. Around them seemed to be a wider slope of stone that curved up the walls to the top. Said stone was covered in ice, so the two would have to watch their footing. "So, I feel like I'm about to jinx this but, I think this is working." Falk told Zane. "We've only had to deal with environmental hazards so far...so it's possible Tywin does not know we're here. Or even planned for us to get here."
-
"Eh I'd still keep your guard up, never know what could be lurking down here."
-
"That's true. I guess-" Suddenly, a small portion of the wall beside Falk crashed open and a pale arm reached out and wrapped around his neck. It pulled him to the wall and bashed his head against it.
-
"You've got to be freaking kidding me!" He drew his buster sword and leapt at the arm, trying to sever it.
-
He lopped through the arm, separating it from its source. A cry came out from the wall as the arm fell to the floor and turned into a snowy powder. Falk coughed from being choked and surprised at the same time. "What the shit was that?!" He asked with bated breath.
-
"My guess? Casper the asshole ghost. Or maybe Frosty the douchebag snowman."
-
Falk chuckled at Zane's cleverness. "Let's just hope its not as witty as you, Zane." Falk told him as he started up the slope.
-
"Eh I'm not worried, we'll just have to keep our eyes out in case that thing strikes again."
-
The two made their way up the slope more now, but that was when the entire cavern suddenly shook. It was almost like an earthquake but not nearly as powerful. It was a tremor, if anything. That being said it was unsettling. Falk looked around as he put his hand up against the solid wall, but he was quick to move it off.
-
"Huh, what do you think caused that? We're pretty far underground so it couldn't have came from above."
-
"No...but I have a feeling that it has to do with-" Suddenly, the ice wall in front of the two shattered completely and a white mist shot out from the hole. It seemed to flow off the slope and down to the ground below. Whatever it was, it was dense. Falk approached the mist and stuck his foot out into it cautiously. Almost immediately he let out a breath of surprise as he recoiled his foot back. "It's cold! Really damn cold!"
-
He raised his eyebrow in surprise. "Really? That's it? You afraid of catching a cold or something?"
-
"Keep laughing all you want. You try sticking your foot in it!"

-
He wasn't chuckling for long. He immediately felt the cold grip his leg and numb it. As he looked at it he saw that his leg was starting to freeze from the cold, literally with icy blue crystals forming.
-
"What kind of sub zero ice is this?!" He said as he raised his leg back up.
-
As soon as he did, Falk sprinted past him and through the mist. He raised his arms as he got to the other side, and let out a shivered breath. "L-luckily it's not instant!" He told Zane.
-
"Shit is more colder then getting stuck in a freezer when I was a child!" He took a deep breath and dashed through the mist.
-
He felt the cold tear at him for a second before it subsided. He felt his hair stick up on the back of his neck and his teeth chattering together from the exposure. "Well looks like we're about to have a worse situation then that..." Falk said as he looked down. As Zane did as well, he saw that the entire cavern below them was becoming filled with the mist... And it was rising towards them.
-
"God damnit, really wishing I still had magic right about now....."
-
"Well you still have legs don't you? Move!" Falk yelled as he sprinted up the path.
-
"Just saying magic would have made this easier!" He yelled as he sprinted behind Falk.
-
"Ya! So would a jet pack! Maybe one less meal! Keep running!" Falk yelled as Zane felt the cold nip at his feet.
-
"Il have you know I practically ate nothing today thank you very much!" He yelled as he sped up, and started to pass his friend.
-
The two continued their mad dash up, but the mist was gaining on them. It bit at their feet like a pack of wild animals as they sprinted up the slope. Eventually they reached the top, where they were met with a long cavernous hallway. But, the mist was still on their tail. "This way!" Falk declared as he ran down the hall.
