It takes a millennium to get your super

So is it just me or is anyone else about to die of old age trying to get their super in D2? I can't find a way to boost the charge rate either. [i]~Nyahh! =^,.,^=[/i]

    Has anyone thought that maybe our supers charge slow because of our lost traveller? We lost our light, so therefore, our supers would take extra long to charge due to our lost connection. In theory, there are still remnants of that light within us as guardians, which is why we're still able to use supers and abilities. Maybe, once we play through the game and complete all the missions, we'll have restored the Traveller and gained access to the vast well of light, further igniting our supers. Or maybe I'm just hopeful and delusional, either way, still preordered!

    • I dont mind it for crucible, but for pve i want supers, nades, power ammo and i want it often

      I played crucible for a couple of hours yesterday and I enjoyed it much more than D1 crucible. Of course there are ppl who have become dependent on sticky nades and are not going to like it but it was very refreshing to not have to worry about get killed by a sticky nade every 5 seconds. Gun skill plays a much bigger role now and I like it. Bungie has already stated that players only being able to get 1 super per match was done intentionally.

      • After playing a few matches in pvp this is my experience. [b]PVP[/b] [i]Control[/i] When I'm doing ok to decent, I get my super mid-game. I'm lucky to get it again near the end. When I'm doing bad I'm unlikely to get a super until the near end of the match. [i]Countdown[/i] I really enjoy this mode. I was worried these 4v4 modes would be slow but the maps are a great fix for this. I'm still almost instantly in a gunfight and it's just less chaotic. Which is a good thing in my opinion. I anyways, when I'm doing decently I get my super around 2-4 rounds in. If I'm doing terribly it's around 3-5 in. [b]PVE[/b] In the story mission I got my super like 3 times. Was pretty easy to get it. In the Inverted Strike I got my super quite often too. At least 3 times. I use it tactically, like nova bombing a big enemy or crowd. As long as I keep killing enemies I'm good.

        • In PvE during the first mission I believe I only got my super twice, during that time I screwed up the first time and gave myself the bubble. I believe it also was about 25-30 minutes of play time as well. I started right when the beta started. With exploring, cut scenes, and gameplay, I only got my super twice. That's not right. During the strike I believe I only got it twice as well. Halfway to the boss and during the 3rd/4th phase of the boss. Finished with almost 150 kills and I only got my super twice? In Destiny at my lowest level I was getting it several times. In PvP, I only get it once. Even when I was on a 5 player killstreak, I still got it at the same time as everyone else. In PvP, that's fine, I hate people constantly getting supers and spamming them everywhere. There's nothing more annoying then a team destroying another team simply by always having their supers. In PvE, it's bad. Especially with the amount of enemies. It makes me feel less powerful, and it's really making me have to strategize more. Especially with the new weapon set up.

            • I am watching video if my gameplay. I can confirm that killa grant you a boost in super charge. The boost appears yellow.

              • All charges feel too slow especially in pve. Feel of guns felt off too. Game looks beautiful . Thing I'm having hardest time with is it wants to feel like a sequel but yet there are parts that feel more like a dlc. I know that sounds weird but I feel like it has t found its own mark, if that makes any sense. Lastly enemies feel more spongy. Not hating on it. That's my biggest constructive feedback. Part of it is on me adapting to it. I'm going to be a day 1 player but this one feels a little awkward. We'll see :)

                • No one ever talks about PvE, the changes make sense in pvp, although I'd rather the supers start popping up mid game rather than the last 45 seconds. Supers are so slow to charge, I had 145 kills and only two, maybe three supers. They also burn out so fast. One golden gun shot didn't even take out a legionnary cabal, and did around 700 ish damage on Protheon, whereas one sniper shot did around 900 on Protheon. I can barely take out a major with half or all of my super. Also, power ammo drops are too few and far between. I saw maybe 3 bricks at most in a strike run, and it gave little ammo. The sniper I was using, albeit low impact, did not feel powerful at all. It's just a praedyth's revenge type sniper shoved in the heavy slot, without extra damage to compensate since it's now a heavy/power weapon. It also didn't help that Protheon is just a bullet sponge without many mechanics and just tons of adds.

                  • I have no issue with super charge rate in PvP. PvE should be faster. However, none of the gear in the Beta have any extra super energy perks like D1. I think it's about 5 mins 30 secs for full charge with no intellect, super perks and kills in D1 so it is slower in Beta but I think it will be at a perfect rate once you get the setup with the optimum perks. The six shot Gunslinger is wasted in PvP. There are only 4 opponents and unless they are all in one area, you only get 1 kill, 2 tops, and run out. And the fact that you only get your super at the end of the match in the beta, you can't wait for that perfect moment to use it otherwise you'll never use it at all. Countdown is a waste of time if you don't go in with a fire team or if everyone is in team chat which happens never. I like the mode though. Other than that, everything else is good. Alternate abilities are great. The new subclasses are awesome. Nessus is cool. Really liking the vibe for D2.

                  • The armor bonuses don't do anything for ability cooldowns. They affect armor, mobility, and health regen instead

                    • Do whatever in PVE, but I actually hate that supers are in PVP at all to begin with. Supers close the skill gap and allow an environment in which bottom tier players have a high probability of downing top tier players. This is just my personal opinion.

                        • Played in a few games where no one managed to get a super at all.....it's either that or every player gets their super at the same time with about a minute to go. Just seems pointless even having one if you an only get it right at the very end of a game.

                          • Yeah, my only gripes so far is slow super times and grenades on sentinel aren't as good as I'd like. Aside from that it's pretty good

                            My humble thoughts about it... At D1 with sh1t gear it also take a long time to get your super. But...the supers itself... Yes, they're very disappointing. TTK is fine (shoot their heads/ crits) Weapons look cool and feel good. I don't agree with many saying that they are underwhelming. (We need more ammunition tough) Still....Had no problem beating the strike or killing any enemy (yellow bar or not) I don't want a game that is too easy. I want a challenging game (not extreme though) But always the same weapons and with the same perks. Bad decision! How many of us played the same activities or been hoping that a vendor or a drop will get you that "god" roll? That was actually one of the things that made a lot of players putting so many hours into D1 Playability still good(ish) Now... Those jumps...loool. Terrible! Why?Only needed to slow down a little bit the Titans. PVP: Only 4x4 Bad! Removing rumble, 3x3 and 6x6 it's bad...really bad. The maps so far... Wow... terrible. A lot worst than D1 Always got 1 super, but the super itself sucks. Hunter is probably the best for attacking. Titan and Warlock worst than everyone thought it would be. PVE: Basically the same as D1(Like a Dlc) Super underwhelming, not enough ammo, enemy's...bah (A.I still bad) So... I like the new weapons and how they perform(except the grenades launcher) both Pve and PvP. That's not enough to buy the game. I did not pre-order (now definitely not going to), played with a code that I got from the forums. Will wait for some feedback and some videos to make my decision. Hope is the last thing to give up...right? Hey, Bungie... You shot yourself in the foot!

                            • I have not yet tried - so got a question: do ppl have max gear to boost their stats for faster regen? - killing enemies used to boost super just slightly - is that still working??

                                  Well we have lost our light so Gary or whatever is name is says so ! My first impressions of D2 not really that impressed but then again it's only the beta loved D1 I really don't know why they have had to -blam!- around with the mechanics of the game tbh so we shall see !

                                  • Agreed. But I was astonished at how slow my grenade was. Seriously, is this just a shooter clone now? I'm harsh, but seriously. Voidwalker was cool but REALLY? The recharge rates are just aweful. That said, PVP was an oddly wonderful and refreshing experience. I just want to be able to fling purple doom more often. Oh well. If I want my magic fix I'll just load up Magicka 2. Or Skyrim.
