Seriously, I was worried for a while. After watching videos, reading the comments of our 99% negative Destiny community, and after remaining as objective as possible through all of this, the way Destiny 2 feels is amazing. I've been playing since Day 1, as many of you have, and like most, I didn't like the idea of the weapon changes, class simplification, or the way us Hunters seem to have gotten shafted with a staff this time around. But as I'm playing this beta, I can honestly say everything feels right, even Arcstrider, which I thought I'd hate. I have no input as to the other classes yet, but playing Hunter seems to be just as fun as ever, although I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a return performance of invisibility abilities and a beautiful bow. The strike was fun, different, and I lost count of how many times I got carried away and got shredded by the drill. The boss was a proper sponge without it feeling like we were endlessly shooting Super Soakers at him. The game itself is beautiful, the roll ability is seriously addicting, and as much as I hated the idea of Arcstrider being as basic in D2 as he was in D1, I couldn't stop myself from getting a sense of nostalgia, from the days of Star Wars: Battlefront II playing as Darth Maul. Have yet to dive into PVP or try power weapons beyond the grenade launcher, but so far I'm seriously enjoying this, and I've no doubt my addiction to Destiny has come back full force. As far as I can tell, even with all the content I felt they had removed, this still feels like Destiny, but better. Don't get me wrong, Destiny was broken like crazy when it launched, but if you were there day one it was still a blast discovering everything they had made for us, all the bugs and glitches in Destiny never stopped me from having a hell of a time. So really guys, how about we all grow up a little and open our minds to the possibility of how good this could be. You can't whine about changes and whine about things being the same, at the same time, it's ridiculous to say the least.
