A heavy fog had rolled into the Dojo, hiding the village from sight.
There was a presence that seemed to follow it, leaving the villagers cold and weary.
Something was very wrong.
In the distance hidden by the gray blanket a loud howling could be heard, growing ever nearer.
The very sound seemed to crush all feelings of joy or comfort, leaving fear and death.
Open, first in a series that will lead to a quest later.
Edited by Stitch: 7/22/2017 3:28:24 AMA green haired hero, Lyn, stepped out of a tavern, broadsword in hand. She wasn't as affected by the howl as everyone else, but she knew for damn sure something was wrong and she wasn't going to let whatever was out there hurt the villagers. She began to jog towards the origin of the howl, sheathing her blade to allow her easier and faster travel. "Gotta love how this place attracts conflict like moth to a flame."
-
The howling increased, but it's source was hidden in the mists. Villagers were running for their homes now, a panic having seized them.
For some reason her leaving a Tavern and your comment about sheathing to go faster made me think of Skyrim...
-
Hey, that's what I was going for actually when I was typing it.
Lyn kept running to the source, not tiring in the slightest due to her inhuman endurance.
-
One third of a stamina bar later she found the fog was thickening. It had a tainted, demonic scent to it. Whatever it was, it was clearly strong.
-
Lyn pulled her sword out and ran her hand across it, which somehow caused the blade to burst into a red flame. She used it to help see through the fog slightly, knowing the holy fire would help with any demonic presence.
-
The fog did indeed pull back slightly, leavibg a give foot radius clear around her. It kept trying to close in on her, like water crashing around a rock, the fog was determined to snuff out the light.
-
Lyn growled at the fog and swung her sword, causing slashes of fire to shoot out in the direction she attacked. "Shoo, fog! Get! Where's the stupid demon thing causing this...?"
REPLY
-
The howling erupted again, much closer. Something moved in the corner of her eye, a darl outline against the fog.
-
Leon was in the village, navigating the fog using his sparking speartip for light. He managed to see through the fog, wary of whatever it harboured
-
The howling increased and he could see movement around him, shadows darting just outside the light of his spear.
-
He took out his shield, the shield crackling with the same electricity and he waved the spear in front of him as to help clear away the fog, not being taunted by the creatures
-
One of the creatures suddenly lunged at him, revealing a scarred, hairless, wolf-like face and fangs. It sailed at him, aiming it's teeth at his throat.
-
He sidestepped the creature, keeping his shield inbetween himself and the creature as he pointed his spear at it, using his electrokinesis to fire a bolt of lighting straight at it
-
The bolt hit it's side, making it shriek and retreat from him. He could make out what looked like a large, hairless cross between a wolf and a lion with large fangs that dripped poison.
-
He took a step back, plunging his spear into the ground and taking the crossbow off his back, firing bolt after bolt into the thing, as quickly as he could. He was fat enough to shoot a bolt every 2 seconds with his crossbow as he aimed for the heart, the eyes, and neck
-
He landed two shots before it was out of view, both in it's side. The beast left a trail of black blood leading off into the mist.
-
He collapsed his spear, putting it on his back as he tracked the creature, creating a circle of electricity around his waist to cast the fog around him away as he followed the trail, watching his surroundings as he did
-
The trail lead him to the corpse of the creature. It was on it's side, not breathing.
-
Leon walked over to it, poking its side with an electrified spear to make sure it was dead as he looked around
-
It was indeed dead. As soon as he poked it, the body dissolved into a black slime. More howling erupted from all around him.
-
He raised his shield, pointing his spear out as they both crackled with electricity. He was ready for a fight
-
Another beast emerged from the fog, growling at him as it began to circle. A sevond one soon joined it.
-
He keeps a stone solid expression, looking out st the beasts without fear. He spun the spear, great arcs of electricity creating a circle as he did.
