A green haired hero, Lyn, stepped out of a tavern, broadsword in hand. She wasn't as affected by the howl as everyone else, but she knew for damn sure something was wrong and she wasn't going to let whatever was out there hurt the villagers.
She began to jog towards the origin of the howl, sheathing her blade to allow her easier and faster travel.
"Gotta love how this place attracts conflict like moth to a flame."

The howling increased, but it's source was hidden in the mists. Villagers were running for their homes now, a panic having seized them.
For some reason her leaving a Tavern and your comment about sheathing to go faster made me think of Skyrim...

Hey, that's what I was going for actually when I was typing it.
Lyn kept running to the source, not tiring in the slightest due to her inhuman endurance.
-
One third of a stamina bar later she found the fog was thickening. It had a tainted, demonic scent to it. Whatever it was, it was clearly strong.
-
Lyn pulled her sword out and ran her hand across it, which somehow caused the blade to burst into a red flame. She used it to help see through the fog slightly, knowing the holy fire would help with any demonic presence.
-
The fog did indeed pull back slightly, leavibg a give foot radius clear around her. It kept trying to close in on her, like water crashing around a rock, the fog was determined to snuff out the light.
-
Lyn growled at the fog and swung her sword, causing slashes of fire to shoot out in the direction she attacked. "Shoo, fog! Get! Where's the stupid demon thing causing this...?"

The howling erupted again, much closer. Something moved in the corner of her eye, a darl outline against the fog.
