Tubbs was fighting off more of the soldiers, and with the dragon dead, the remaining dozen of them were split between the two people. So, six men ran at Hak with their guns, ready to take him down.
But, one of them had a shotgun. And at the range he was at he blasted Hak's shields, reducing their overcharge with the combined firepower of the others to 40% in a few seconds.

Hak shouted once again, this time with disarm, to throw the shotgun out of the guard's hands. After that, he sent one scimitar into the air and back down on to the guard's neck.

The scimtar sliced through the former shotgunners throat and sent him to the ground. But suddenly, one of the soldiers ran up and bashed Hak's helm with the butt end of his assault rifle. The rest suddenly followed suit and began to beat him with their rifles.
