Who knew socialism/communism would lead to oppression?
"B-But that wasn't real socialism/communism," some bastard will say.

Edited by Sainyule: 8/2/2017 10:33:28 PMI'm seeing news and posts saying the Venezuela currency is worth less than WoW's virtual gold. I've also heard them say "again" as well, so if true maybe this isn't the first time?

>conveniently ignores real causes and says "communism/socialism". I mean... i get you probably dont even know history past the fourth grade and differences betweem -isms .... But I dont see this venezuela facination fooling anyone above a GED. Your logic is as sound as me saying "look at southern and eastern africa... that is capitalism" and calling it a day. I wont even bother believing you have dusted off a book and realize the US has undermined just about every instance since the start of the cold war anyways. It was my main reason for disliking hillary.

Contrary to popular belief from the right, Venezuela is a Kleptocracy (a corrupt dictatorship) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleptocracy Also the Venezuelan economy is based off of one single commodity, oil. The US economy works since it has many services and commodities. Same thing with Scandinavian Europe and Canada (which are considered social democracies). People still pull the Venezuela and "socialism" card, yet they don't know the big picture or the correct one.
-
It is very sad that this is happening. This has been going on for too long, ever since president Maduro got elected. This actually brings me a little more sorrow and anger than most because I am Venezuelan myself. I hope that the situation is resolved soon. I hear that the US is starting to get involved but not sure. My prayers go to Venezuela.

I hate Jeremy Corbyn more with each passing day.
-
But I thought NY Times was fake news?? So if it fits your narrative they're legit?
-
Yup. Once the USA slaps those sanctions on you your done. OFAC bitches!
-
When your country is ruined multiple times by communism and you still blame capitalism.
-
Which just makes this all the better
-
Who knew socialism/communism would lead to oppression?
Not a lot of causation there.
-
Virtually every country dependent on oil as its only revenue stream is corrupt. Look at the UN corruption index. There's a big correlation between countries whose GDP is made mainly oil wealth and corruption. The form of government doesn't really matter. Nigeria's capitalist, corrupt as fck, is it capitalists fault, or greedy leaders and unscrupulous oil companies prepared to pay massive bribes to get what they want.
-
I think the problem Venezuelan socialism has is that it was held together by Chavez. Now that he's gone, the whole project is falling apart.
-
Yet some still push for socialist policies in the US
-
But according to Trump the NY Times is fake news. And his followers parrot that here often. So either many of you gloating are hypocrites or this is fake. Which is it?
-
This isn't news.
-
Enough with politics, alright. This isn't the US, this is venezuala. It is and always will be bad
-
Indeed. Things are pretty shit down there.
