Chapter Forty Three
Lyn could only see the darkness as she felt herself being propelled down the dark tunnel. She couldn't see a thing as the cold caves air cut against her skin as she suddenly realized there was nothing holding her up anymore. The next thing she realized was that she had fallen into ice cold water.
She quickly floated up and felt her feet touch the ground, but she was freezing. She thought she saw a cavern ahead however...

Lyn coughed and sighed while wringing out her hair with annoyance clear in her voice and expression. "This'll take forever to dry..." She began to walk towards the cavern, constantly moving her wet hair in discomfort.
-
As she walked down the cavern however, she soon came to the realization she would need some form of light, as it was awfully dark.
-
Lyn formed a short sword in her hand, the blade having a faint blue glow that was just enough to see the floor. "Should've brought a match..."
-
However, as the glow illuminated her small vicinity, she saw what was right in front of her. A wall of frozen skulls.
-
"Huh." She waved her sword around, observing all of the skulls. "I honestly expected worse." Lyn follwed the wall, trying to see if it ended so she could go around it.
-
As she followed the wall, she saw that it took a left turn further into darkness. The skulls remained as the build for the place, and they seemed ancient in their complexion.
-
Lyn kept walking along the side of the wall with her sword raised. "Skulls...skulls...more skulls....Someone needs to hire an interior decorator."
-
Then, she heard something echo down the hall she walked. It was something...dropping. Something light, like a metal. It rang across the halls to meet here ears as she suddenly came across a large archway. Above the arch, there seemed to be some form of dialect that she couldn't make out...
-
Lyn stopped for a moment and pulled out a pen and paper to write down what she saw. "I should've payed more attention in world languages..." When she finished she kept walking forward.
-
Then, as from nowhere, four skulls shattered beside her as a pale arm shot out and gripped her throat. It pulled her into the wall of skulls, strangling her and making her hit her head against the wall.
-
She sliced at the arm with the blade in her hand, which instantly shortened into the size of a dagger to let her move it around easier.
-
Her first cut sliced through half of the arm. It limply continued to grasp at her but she could easily get out of its reach now.
-
Lyn did so, attempting to cut the rest of the arm off as she stepped back and away from the arm. "Damn, jumpscares!"
-
She lopped the arm off completely and it shattered as it hit the ground. A cry came out from the wall and the sound of footsteps scurried away.
-
"You better run!" She sighed and rolled her eyes before continuing on her way.
-
As she turned to look down the hallway, however, something illuminated the path ahead of her. It seemed to be an orb of some sort, covered in a heavy fog that gravitated towards it. It began to move ahead, and took a left turn.
-
"Spooky..." Lyn began to jog down the hall, following the orb and trying not to lose it in hope of finding something.
-
As she followed it, she then heard voices behind her. People called out for her name, at least that's what she thought.
>Investigate the light >Investigate the noise
-
"Huh?" She turned towards the noises, but then turned back to the light and kept following. "Nah, this is more interesting."
Light.
-
The orb led her down the halls, and she began to descend a staircase. As she walked down, she saw that she was no longer surrounded by such closed in walls as the light from the orb was no longer contained.
-
"Weird...ECHO!" She suddenly sceamed, hoping to hear an echo.
-
And that she did. Her voice echoed through the room the orb lit up. Suddenly it floated up to the ceiling, and it split apart. It seemed to ignite candles, which were stuck on a large overhanging set piece. The candles were alight with the white light which revealed Lyn the room she stood in. There were stairs that moved around the large room in a circular fashion(so they would all lead down to the place Lyn stood). The ground Lyn stood on, large and circular, had four massive coffins which were placed in symmetric with Oke another.
-
Lyn observed the coffins, walking up to them and lightly running a hand across one. "Okay then...strange tomb it is." She turned her attention back to the staircase, wondering where it went and if anything heard her yell.
-
The stair case around the room lead to the other three entrances she could not have come out of. Then, she noticed something about the coffins. Each one was inscribed with words. Likely those who were held in them. But the thing was, they were also all Opened. And each of the stone covers had the same patterns and carvings as the other. The first inscription caught her eye. "Here lies Faolin Coldbourne. The unbridled rage of the Coldbourne family."
-
"More like *sshole of the family." Lyn looked at each inscription and checked each coffin for anything inside.
