Training Again
East of the Dojo
The sound of swords clashing could be heard in a clearing, loud and shrill.
Markus was training himself, practicing his swprdplay against a wood and metal dummy.
Sweat rolled down his brow as he slashed again and again, the blows ringing through the still air.
His footwork appeared flawless, his strikes strong and well aimed.
Despite the racket, he heard someone approach and stepped back, lowering his sword.
Open. You are whoever he heard.
A Titan approached Markus. He was wearing a plumed helmet, a chestplate with a triangle with two lines inside the triangle as the armor piece's logo. He had standard Duskrender gear for his gauntlets and boots, and the Defender's Mark. He had a custom sword. It was a pristine, and double-edged blade, with the Defender's insignia branded onto the blade near the hilt. The irony of this blade, is that it sparked with Arc Energy. The Titan spoke, "It's been a long time since I've had a proper duel. So why not help train you."
-
A man in more modern armour approached, twin cutlass style blades in hand. He had a helmet on, his armour hiding most of his skin that the clothing didn't. He spoke as he approached, his muffled voice having a Mexican accent. "Need a sparring partner?"
-
Mexican accent... I now picture Speedy Gonzales' voice.
Mark shrugged. "If you wish to join me, I will not refuse."
-
i was more thinking closer to Rico Rodriguez
"Well, I need a bit of practice. Skills are starting to get rusty." He said, spinning his blades as he took a stance
-
The corner of Mark's mouth twitched as a smile threatened to appear. "Then I shall take it easy on you, friend." He stepped back into a defensive stance with his sword held low, pointed at his opponent.
-
His blades were kept raised, pointed both towards his eyes to make their length hard to determine. The man's footwork even in stance seemed to be well practiced, as he began to circle his opponent, staying light on his feet
-
Mark stepped forward, attempting a vertical slice at the man's right shoulder. He extended his stance to keep his body body behind the sword, shielding him.
-
Leon weaved under the strike, attempting to sweep the man's leg with his own.
-
Mark used the momentum of his swing to twirl the sword as he sidestepped away from the blow, moving around Leon's right side in an attempted flank.
-
Leon was light on his feet, using his spin from the leg sweep the same way his opponent did, facing him and blocking his strike with the flats of his blades
-
Mark attempted to shove the smaller man back, using his weight to his advantage.
-
He accepted the force, using it to step back further. As he moved back he planted his feet firmly, as if it was a tactic he had seen before. "I half expected you to should a Roman insult there. Been a while since I was shoved that hard." He said, as he brandished his swords in his original stance again.
-
Mark smiled, taking up a more open stance to allow more freedom of movement. "You are skilled, sir."
-
"Well, military service will do that to you. When it's life or death you tend to keep the skills sharp." He says, circling again
-
"So you're military then? May I ask ehat army you are a part of?" Markus feigned a cut to the left, then circled it into a downward stroke at the last second.
-
He barely sidestepped the cut, the blade glancing off his elbow as he stabbed at hit right hip with his sword, ready to block with his others. "I was military, Mexican. I was part of a MSU, a motorized strike unit. Basic terms, I had a crossbow, a spear and a motorcycle and my squad broke enemy formations."
-
"Crossbow and spear? Yet you use cutlasses?" Markus swung from the left.
-
"One blade was a standard sidearm, I took up a small shield and later another blade just to be more prepared if I lost my weapons." He said He parried and swing to the right
-
Markus blocked it, stepping back. "Interesting."
-
He stepped forward, stabbing with his other sword at your gut. "Some may think so."
-
Markus caught it on the crossguard and shoved him back.

What he had heard approach was simply a trick caused by the wind and litter. The woman drew her own sword, which was about four feet in length, its blade three feet while its grip was one. She swung it around a bit, warming her muscles up, before holding the blade in front of herself, tip aimed diagonally upwards and forwards. "Shall we duel?" She asked, although it wasn't as much a request as a challenge.
