Title says it all. Do you want them back?
I would like to see them come back. At first I could care less, but it is nice to look at when your not sure what to do in game and you see that empty node that you need to finish. Kinda helps you stay on track I guess.
What does the community think?

Yep, & they should give armor sets like the ROI book did.
-
Grimoire cards were a good way to see what was available in the game that you hadn't completed. I preferred them to record books.
-
I'd say yes it gave us a reason to do activities in d1 and figure out which ones to go for
-
I personally didn't like them. Here go do these things you've already done a thousand times. Now if they spiced them up and gave us more interesting challenges that I would like.
-
The desticle has been defeated by the ninjas. Wont let me have any fun. Even after paying 100s for the full d1 experience, thanks Ninjas.
-
If they're free, then yes. But the SRL book you had to pay for was pretty dumb
-
I don't want to work my way to finish a record book to then pay
-
I liked the record books, as they gave you things to do during the dry periods of the game.

Edited by Guardian Apollo: 8/14/2017 4:22:10 PMI don't really care for their existence when it's not for Moments of Triumph; but Bungie could also put that on the website like in Year 1.

The record books can be a great tool for guiding players. Or they can be a cheap way to extend playtime, especially for the new 4v4 only Crucible. The Age of Triumph record book was very forgiving for how players like to actually play the game. I would love to see more of that in D2.
-
Edited by PapaSubpar: 8/14/2017 4:19:03 PMI would not be sad to not see them in D2, but I would not be sad if they are in either.
-
I've 100% them all, why not?
-
No. No and no. No books of Age or Triumphent or whatever.
-
I picked no... mostly because the record books are pretty useless.. alot of grind for rewards that dont equal to the grind? I mean seriously.. take the last book in destiny 1.. what did we get? Ugly emblems and a code for a shirt.. and how long was that book? I know many had most automatically filled in, but it was a long book! It was pointless and a waste of time really.. so I think the only way Id hope for record books to come back, is if they make the reward equal to the work in the book.

They are just a cheap way of artificially extending the lifespan of the game. Fair enough, if the game is at the end of its lifespan then it's a quick way of creating more incentive to play. Otherwise, would you rather play the game and be motivated by a good narrative, or because an inconsequential book node told you so?
-
Meh, I don't finish them anyway. The Trials and raids parts I can't be bothered doing.
-
nah... I want reasonably priced DLC with enough content. Let's start there.
-
Pretty sure it's already been confirmed that they are coming to D2.
-
Never completed one yet 😳
-
I enjoyed them.
-
Sure. I had fun filling mine up.
-
Hell no it was bad enough in the first game let alone carrying that crap into the next game so NO
