It will really suck waiting 40 hours for the game to download on Day 1 when a million other users are also trying to server-punch 40Gigs of data plus the D1 Patch.
Pop that puppy at the end of next week and go for a jog/watch a movie. It's still gonna take a while, but it beats being 3 days behind the bunch in the download queue

TL;DR??
Most Destiny versions are digital since the "bonus" content can only be found on the Hard-Copies of the Collectors Edition (Sold Out Worldwide in under 4 minutes) and Limited Edition (Sold Out/Extremely Hard To Find) - - So...Pre-Order/Pre-Download for a Happy Day 1
-
Mine's already downloading, about 50% complete right now
-
Pre-ordered and pre-downloaded....
awaiting disappointment
-
It's not 40 or 60GB or whatever. Xbox preload is under 30 so ps4 should be the same. Either way I'm sure that's why bungie starts preload next week. Their infrastructure is garbage and they need to mitigate it
-
It's almost 70 gigs, and I downloaded the 15 gig beta in less than 3 min, so not real worried. Besides, you can start pre-load days before launch as a background process.
-
My physical copy will likely take 10-15 minutes tops to install on my XB1. However, I can foresee long download times for the day 1 update/patch.
-
40? Even hector from Peru can cut that in half and he doesn't even own a console
-
Nah, I'm going to be a rebel and download everything day 1. ~TheGreatNike
-
Lol to bad servers will not be live tell 2 am PST.
-
Do you know what TLDR means? Lol
-
Edited by XenosInvictus: 8/20/2017 2:05:40 AMGamestop is having their release at 9pm. I'll have plenty of time for the day one update to download.
-
I wish they would give disc preorders the game because we can't play anyway until the servers come up. I wanna play right when I get home from work on Wednesday.
-
NO what really sucks is going to a fancy restaraunt and finally deciding on what you want to order and the waiter brings you a plate loaded with soggy asparagus
-
Preordered disc, only 5 down, but I mighty just buy digitally so I can install ahead of time
-
I got the $100.00 digital deluxe edition
-
When will we be able to preload?, next week? God I hope so...
-
240 down here, not worried
-
I love digital because I download games at 20-40mbps :)
-
I am hopeful but not confident that servers will not have issues day of launch. Last big dlc drop I remember a 6 hour wait cause it was overloaded
-
I have no problem with this post but your tl;dr is practically as long as your original post! ;)
-
Also if you buy digital you can split the price with your buddy who you gameshare with!
-
That's one of the reason I switched to all digital games. Get the download out of the way and just boot it up right at midnight.
-
Wait I dont know whats going on. I have been living under a rock latley. What pre-load and what is going on?
-
Xbox starts downloading early next week and PS4 starts downloading destiny 2 on the 31st so we have enough time to download destiny 2
-
Don't forget after you preload you can also preload the day one patch as well! That will help you get started ASAP! via TWAB : Destiny 2 will also receive a Day 1 Update, which will become available closer to the release of Destiny 2.
-
What day is preload for xbox?
-
When does it pre load for ps4?
