Hey the Bungie! I'm Swanie, nice to "feed back" at you again! Last time I did this was way back in Halo Reach and I'm glad I get to do this once more. By the way the game runs really smooth with a decent FPS on high, good on you for making a really good working port. Nice change of pace for a AA company ;)
So, I'm just going to get right into it with a list of some stuff that could use some tweaking.
1. When aiming the sensitivity changes as soon as you hit the RMB (right mouse button) making sensitivity very inconsistent while trying to aim the weapon and turn at the same time.
If you want a good example, the sniper rifles with said issue are the most obvious. Before you even go in the scope the aiming will slow waaaayy down to the scopes level of sens and make turning at a target mid scoping a giant pain in the butt. I suggest add a transition to the gradually lower aim sens mid animation or have the sens change in the ADS animation just as the scope is filling up the screen.
2. Disabling the V-sync doesn't disable the V-sync, should be looked into.
3. (Toggle shift) If you hold Shift while you do an ability you'll stop running and have to lift up shift and repress it to run again
4. Be able to put that small health bar on the bottom of the screen as it's very cluttered on the top of the screen with mission data and hard to make out with all the effects from being hit, it just gets kind of lost. Maybe add the shield info as a bar faded out over the health like in Mass effect or Halo 2.
5. If you change your buttons for movement, like I do. I play using ESDF instead of WASD. The menu actions will stay on WASD and the is no way to change this in the keybinding menu. Just add a keybinding part for the menu itself, or link the movement buttons with the menu.
6. This may go with #5 but make it so you can change the button for Text Chat, some players like to have a consistent keybinding setup for every game including Text Chat.
7. For the sensitivity option in the menu make it so if you double click the number and type exactly what you want. Good example is in Counter Strike Global Offensive, so if say if "10" is too low and "11" is too high be able to type in "10.5" that way you can have the exact sens you need.
8. Overall movement is rather floaty and delayed. It's really noticeable on PC's digital input for moving and faster response time in general. It might need some tuning to make it more in line with modern fps movement. Could be with the V-sync not turning off when disabled as well.
9. The sprint is a little too constricting when you run and press the left or right strafe buttons it barely does anything at all. The last game to have sprinting like this was Battle Field Bad Company 2 from 7 years ago and hasn't been seen on PC since from the constricting nature of this mechanic. It was gotten rid of to make the player feel more like a person running and less like a semi-truck going full speed into a corner. This is more player preference but, this belongs more on a controller then a keyboard
10. The servers have shotty hit detection and laggy in the current state. The best way to render this would as I'm sure you've hear time and time again is to get dedicated servers and to get a higher tick rate to match the higher frames per second the PC market offers. If anything, at lest for the PvP end as this is where it's going to be at it's worst.
11. Separate the melee and the melee ability. We have plenty of buttons on a keyboard, I'm sure we can spare a few.
12. When you compensate for recoil with the mouse the game tries to recenter the cross hair where it started, even after you already moved the mouse down to compensate making you unessential fight the aiming.
13. When you get hit using a scoped gun like a sniper rifle the, cross hair will go up. If mid-flinch you bring the cross hair to the target the on the screen the gun wont shoot where the cross hair is pointing at. If you have the skill and reaction time to do such a thing, you should be rewarded with the hit on the target not a "miss".
All in all the game in it's current build is polished and working smooth and far as performance, but the controls being ported from console do show in the details and aiming. I am a fan of some the control and UI detail you put in, like the color of cross hair and where it sits in the screen. If you can nail down the main parts of this feedback I could easily see a long life span on PC for Destiny. Keep up the good work Bungie!
