Get Skype and a decent webcam, set up times to talk at least somewhat frequently, find some fun ways of spending time together virtually (maybe game together, watch movies together on Skype, stuff like that). Write letters and send small gifts if you can afford it and she's the type who likes receiving things that say "I love you" (these don't have to be expensive... Even a refrigerator magnet that literally says "I love you" can mean a lot in the absence of a physical presence to feel close to). Try to save up money for a plane ticket to visit once or twice... Above all, make sure you can handle not having a physical presence. If you think you're going to cheat because you can't handle her not being there, don't drag yourselves through it.
