I don't get the impression he was telling us to play something else. I could be wrong, but I got the impression he was simply saying that we know what we signed up for (in a manner of speaking?). I don't know if Warframe would count as to what you are talking about, but I have had an absolute ball playing it for several months while taking a break between D1 and D2. I can excavate on almost every planet, have beaten all but one boss (solely due to having D2 drop the day before I was going to make my first attempt at that particular boss (D2 took priority for me ;) )) and have yet to play with another human in that game.
