It would be cool if the game could scale difficulty so groups of 1 to 6 could do each piece of PvE content but that seems unlikely. They made a point of saying they want Destiny to be like hanging out at the pub with friends and I assume they'll stick to the social component. Realistically if you want solo pve stuff might need to look to another game
