I usually play solo because am a girl, and the 4 times I did raids, it was horrible. All the guys I met on this game were disrespectful by talking about sex to make me embarassed or by imitating my voice (because I have high-pitched voice)
It's really a big problem

Yes but when you wanna get treated just like a normal player, it's really annoying. Some guys wanna help me like crazy, would do anything just to get my attention. Some of them already asked me if I wanted to move to the UK (am from Belgium) to live with them, I've already got threats by a guy because I didn't want him to be my boyfriend. Trust me I didn't feel good when a guy wished me to be -blam!- by my father (im not even joking), for him it was normal to tell me something like that because I refused to be his girlfriend "even if he helped me on the game", lol. Some guys think that it's cool to be a girl on online games because everyone wanna help you, but trust me, most of them want something in return (like getting attention, being your bf, and worse)

I hear nightmare stories about this all the time (and see it on youtube), but every time I have played with a girl in a game everyone acts pretty normal. It never seems like a big deal, just another person playing a game we all enjoy. I know its real though. I know it exists. I hope immature gamers get over themselves and this issue erases itself from the face of the planet in the near future (optimistic, I know)

I feel like it depends on the girl's voice. I know lots of girls who never have that type of problems because they have a beautiful voice, when you hear them, you imagine a really beautiful woman so I feel like men are like "oh she's a woman I should pay respect" My voice is high-pitched (and am 17) so people don't take me seriously. Same case with young boys, usually people don't take seriously boys who still didn't get their voice mutation. So yeah maybe they're like "it's a defenceless little girl, let's annoy her" 😒

I seriously hope you find a good clan. I get it bad because people thing I'm older on the mic and in real life. Though in chat I'm quite sure people classify me as an unborn child with no sense of humor... Anyways, I know there is a clan with quite a few members (over or around 20) of purely female gamers. It's on PlayStation for your convenience. I don't know what it was called, but I found it somewhere in the clan recruitment forums. I hope you find it, I've spoke to the founder and she's actually really nice. Good luck!

Yes, when you don't feel confident about your voice because it makes you look different from what you are really, it's really a big problem. Everytime my heart beats so hard before I join a voice chat party, because I'm scared of being judged because of my voice. It's really nice but I don't speak English, I mean I can write it but not speaking it (my accent is so terrible that nobody can understand what am saying). I speak French (am Belgian) and everything that happened to me was with French people

I suggest not giving yourself away by saying you're a girl because the crowed of thirsty twelvies will definitely start saying dumb things. I think destiny is way better with people because thats when you start to make memories and have good times. Instead of doing raids or trials with randoms you should get friends into destiny and play with them it makes the game a much greater experience.

But the problem is that in this game we can't communicate with chat, I have to talk with a mic so obviously they will hear that am a girl. My friends don't play on PS4 so I can't join them. One day I met a nice guy on the game, he told me "join us, my friends are very friendly we will have fun by doing raids", 10 minutes later, I was in the party and one guy was already talking about sex and making jokes about my voice and my gender

That sucks to hear. Personally as a guy, it always felt like those were isolated incidents because me and my friends would never do that, and personally I haven't met anyone who would, but it seems that that is inaccurate which is honestly really disappointing from an otherwise amazing community.

for me it happens everytime. especially in mmorpgs, I feel like everyone hates me for my age (17) and my gender. When I meet girls, they're automatically jealous, and when I meet guys, either they don't take me seriously or they try to seduce me. I remember a guy on Aion (a mmorpg), he was like a pro player, everyone liked him, he was very cool, but this guy was a pedophile because he sent me sexual messages whereas I was 13 (and he knew it)... So sometimes you feel like some guys are normal but they don't act the same when they talk to girls

Many of us are married and some of us have daughters. One of our clanmates is a woman who plays with her boyfriend (also a clanmate). You wouldn't have any problems. If you don't want to join our clan, or if you are not on PS4, I recommend finding a clan with older gamers, as they are less likely to be asshats. It's really nice but I don't speak English fluently (I speak French), I can write in English but not speaking it. I already joined a clan in the past, they were like "we are old, we don't care about your gender", 2 days later they were imitating my voice when I had my mic muted 😒 I feel like I always meet the worst people

No worries :) Hope you find a good clan. My wife probably would sympathize. She is tiny and has a high voice and I always do impressions of her, but it is in good fun, and she makes fun of me too.

You need to wade through a sea of both literal and figurative dicks to find the real gems out there. My gf and I have a group that is 100x more mature than a LOT of the players I've met out there. There's a big player base, you're bound to run into assholes. Probably more often than not. Hope you find a clan to call family out there, guardian.

Ikr 😕 I play online games for 6 years and I've only made 4 good friends. But between this, I got lots of shit such as harassment, pedophilia, threats... People are crazy sometimes
