Time wise I'm actually a full time student and work 30+ hours plus a band, but i made time opening week, and there's easy ways to get 290 if you use the loot system to your advantage... My friend I were there day 2 or 3 on our first character. Problem is that too many people grabbed powerful gear before they were high enough. THAT ASIDE, it isn't to fit my own personal taste. This game has been watered down quite a bit because people whine (the 2nd turbine removal in the first mission was just ridiculous). This is challenging end game content, meant to put you to the test, give the best items, and keep you coming back (I reference end game because running out of ammo prior is EXTREMELY unlikely unless you run away from ammo). If it was all a walkthrough, what would be the point of continued play? Ammo drops have been siginifcantly increased and spread for this game so that synth would be unnecessary, while not just giving you infinite ammo. That, and we basically all have 2 primaries that hold large amounts of ammo - alternate and grab the boxes when convenient and you'll be fine.

  • I regularly triple 0 on ammo doing strikes with my son, who actually hass come into the living room to check my screen because I tell him "hey, revive me, I need to get ammo" and run for a cliff. his screen? looks like an ammo truck had explossive diarrhea. My screen? Constipated ammo box wrapped in duct tape.

  • I think that would imply user error... There's clearly an imbalance if they have a bunch and you don't? It's makes me think of when I was playing with my uncle and he was swearing he hit every shot but I was watching him shoot the wall next to the guy the entire time... Different issue though. Watch him play for a bit and see what he does differently? I don't know man, that has literally never happened to anyone I've played with.

User error? Ok, where do I target on an enemy to make them drop ammo? I've tried headshots, body shots, should I shoot them in the foot? I mean, what mechanic are you using to get mobs to drop ammo? Obviously just killing them isn't it. And considering that I have yet to run a strike and not be top of the "enemies killed" list unless someone on the team is WAY higher light level than me, then this "user error" you speak of is what? I'm killing too much? So explain to me how "user error" could be an explanation for 0 ammo drops for long enough stretches of time to 0 out on all three types? And yes, I have even tried working with the theory that "juggler" is the default for this game. No effect.

  • It's hard to diagnose without actually seeing you play, sorry... I can tell you, however that your case is a rare one. I'm serious, maybe just watch your kids for a bit and see what they do differently, it's really strange that you don't have drops.

  • Yeah, so far the only idea I have is it's an account issue. I can play EXACTLY the same on my son's account, and never run out of ammo. He plays on mine? "Dad, how the hell do you kill so much stuff? you NEVER get ammo!"

  • That's incredibly odd... Though it does reaffirm my opinion that we aren't needing synths. It sounds like you've encountered an extremely rare bug. I'd either try and contact Bungie in some way to trouble shoot, OR - Test the method I've had to do to fix my achievement unlocks and see if it cures it. Level 20, all subclasses, the prestige achievement... None popped on completion. So what I did was go to settings, "switch account", sign into a different profile, pop THEM into the game, then "switch account" using their profile to go directly back to mine. All achievements then popped at once. Not sure if that would cure whatever you're experiencing, but it's worth a try?

  • I regularly take my profile to friends houses and play on their consoles, or swap between the three xbox ones in my house, hasn't made a difference so far. I can also say, I know at least one other friend who has the same problem, altho not quite as bad as me.

  • I did a Google search out of curiosity, but the only articles found were on D1 House of Wolves and prior. I'm sorry to hear about that, that's definitely a problem. Across the board, I don't think ammo synths should be needed still - whatever you have is unique and needs fixed. How is the question... I would say try redownloading the game or clearing your console cache, but if it happens elsewhere that idea is out the window... I'm unsure :/ do you have multiple characters?

  • Yep, Warlock and Titan, worst on the Titan, but not really appreciably better on the Warlock. Basically, the Titan needs to jump off a cliff regularly, while on my warlock I can sometimes punch my way to ammo. Funny enough, never had this problem in D1, my only "problem" with it was just bad luck with rng rolls for raid drops :) (It felt like I got Fatebringer every single time I did Vault of Glass, but I never got the pulse rifle, fusion rifle, or rocket launcher from VoG :P)

I've gotten the trials pulse 3 times, and the auto 3 times, in my one flawless run... I feel you. D1 it was always getting another Zhalo or Smite of Merain -_- but that's RNG for you. As to the issue, I'm really not sure what to say then? I was hoping maybe it was just the one character. Maybe try the switch character tab, but that's all I've got. Hopefully with the maintanence today they'll accidentally fix it for you.

  • Yeah, here's hoping! and glad to hear I'm not the only one to be unfavored by RNGesus :) But yeah, I find that to be more funny than anything else
