So, I had been writing a destiny fanfiction, but, as usual, I got tired of it. The fact my story was technically a "Fanfiction" ruined it for a lot of people, including, eventually, myself. So, I'm creating my own story, with my own characters, my own setting, instead of borrowing one from somewhere else. Feel free to follow #Recurrences, and leave criticism about what I have so far. I hope to post once a week, but don't hold me to that, you can look at the post dates on my other story under #Violetfanfiction. I'm exposing myself here, so I'm more vulnerable than I'd like. Criticism or straight up hate will sting more, but praise will also be that much better. My point is, be as gentle or harsh as you see fit. Please don't hate for the sake of hating, or love for the sake of loving, although I wouldn't really mind the latter.
”What’s today?”
“Day 4 of week 9.”
“When did we send all the people to investigate, Summer, Winter, Spring, and Autumn?”
“Day 4, week 7.”
“Is the Citadel ready?”
“What? Do you really think they all died?!”
“We sent out 20 people and none have returned. I knew Winter doesn’t like us, but Spring and Summer seem to favor those who use the Support, Defender, and Protector Class. However, it’s been 2 weeks, and there's no word from from any of them. We even replaced the 4 who were on the council. I’m pretty sure their deaths were an unspoken truth until now.”
“Alright, what do we do if no one appears at the Citadel? That would mean they all are still alive.”
“If that's the case, I say we send another 5 to each Season.”
“So they can all disappear or die too?! No one in their right mind would go. If I’m being honest, I just hope they all had quick, painless deaths. Makes it more simple for us, and them.”
“We need to understand the Seasons though. We do have some control over them, since we can summon them and get them to fight if we get a perfect team summon, even if just for a moment.”
“I agree, but if the strongest of us were unable to return, we should definitely take time to learn more about the mechanics of this world. We recently discovered Rare gear, and there is definitely at least another level of gear after that. With rare gear nearly doubling our current stats, there is a long way to go before reaching our maximum potential.”
“We’ll vote on it tomorrow morning. If there is no one at the Citadel, they must all be alive. If there are new people at the Citadel, we will know that they died.”
He woke up on his own and thought to himself before moving or opening his eyes.
That’s odd, it’s a Friday, right? My Mom or alarm should have gotten me up. Also, did I fall on the floor? I’m definitely not in my bed.
He sat up, stretching and yawning. He opened his eyes, and it was too bright to see anything at first.
“Already dressed? Huh. Wait, these aren’t even my clothes…”
He then noticed the room he was in. It was fairly large, and old looking, completely made of a light bluish colored stone.
“Where am I?!”
He quickly got to his feet and looked around for a way out. He saw a couple others, wearing the same exact garments he was wearing, and they were still lying down. He saw a part of the wall that looked like a door, but it was just a wall. He pushed on it, and it slid a tiny bit, so small he wasn’t even sure it had moved. He pushed harder and harder, until he had exhausted himself. Looking at the ground, it seemed to have moved about two centimeters. He slid down to the ground, panting. He saw one of the others in the room sitting up.
“Huh?! Where am I? What am I wearing?” She said, panicked. She had light brown hair, a slender figure, and looked about his own age, 19.
“I wish I knew. My name’s Vince. You?”
