There are a few things I would like to see changed with the way that Strike and Crucible playlists work, and how they are accessed from the map.
Specific strikes (for instance, being able to access the Inverted Spire from Patrol mode on Nessus) should be able to be accessed via the Patrol map, and once you queue into a specific Strike, there should be a notification when your group is ready to start, similar to how dungeons work for dedicated RPGs (for instance, FFXIV's Duty Finder). Once the Strike has been finished, you would be transported back to the area where you had queued for the Strike.
In the Crucible, there needs to be a Freelance playlist for both Competitive and Quick Play. The current meta of Fireteams roaming around the map in a death squad is almost impossible to deal with, unless you also follow your teammates around like a lost puppy. As a solo player, it's especially bad, since I will almost never have another person in team comms with me. Second, I would like to see the ability to choose preferred Crucible gamemodes in the options menu, similar to how Rainbow Six: Siege has theirs work, where you can choose which modes you do and don't want to play (theirs also included maps, but the maps in this game look balanced enough, with the exceptions of Emperor's Respite, because of its bias towards the "A" point in Control, and Eternity, or whatever the Trials map has been for the past two weeks, because of the long sight lines that the META Multi-Tool abuses so well). It will, obviously, increase queue times for certain modes, but that means that you won't be stuck with game after game of Supremacy with teammates that feed when you wanted to play Control. Also, if there is a solo queue playlist, that means that the return of Rumble is a lot easier to make happen.
This game had a lot of improvements over its predecessor, but Bungie has taken things a bit too far in a few places. Less is not more, and less is not good. In fact (and this may be unpopular), I would prefer to sift through a cluttered UI that allows me to get to what I want than a simple one that gives me a chance of getting there.
P.S. Really, Bungie? Out of all the weapons to bring back, you decide that MIDA and Hard Light be the two? Hard Light, with the screen shake of a Magnitude 8 earthquake, and MIDA, the gun that makes an opponent's screen shake like a Magnitude 8 earthquake? I'd say that High-Caliber Rounds be changed to only work in PvE, but after the Hungering Blade change that happened last summer, I'm scared to say that, because of what else it might affect. Also, for the love of God, either reduce Hard Light's screen shake so you can actually make use of its incredible range, and make the element swap work like the Borealis so that you can use it in a locked-loadout Nightfall with Prism.
