As the title says, you can never please every player.
Yes to some they really miss d1 and think d2 is lacking any real content, but to others they enjoy the road they are taking with d2 and have faith bungie will deliver what they promised with d2.
People can moan about the game all they want but most of the people who are moaning are still playing it anyway, so there must be something they like really.
Bungie could make the most perfect game ever seen and people will still find something to complain about.
Have faith guardians! It took d1 a long time to get to the place it is now, d2 has not even been out a month yet so it is obvious that a lot more content and activities will come!

Several things. The people who often come to the forums and complain like they do tend to be the vocal minority, that doesn't mean they matter any less and could very well be a sign that there is an issue that needs to be addressed, but that isn't always the case as there is other data collected that can be used to determine exactly what course of action would be favorable to the community as a whole. We mostly only hear complaints because those who are satisfied with what they have are less likely to come to forums like these to express their satisfaction and instead chose to simply play the game. It turns out that people are more likely to express their dissatisfaction with a product. There's also the issue that those who have problems with a product don't always have the same solution in mind or may in fact be on opposing sides of a similar issue--e.g. PvP vs PvE balance--some favor the game to be more balanced towards PvP, others towards PvE, while there's those who believe that while for simplicity sake it made sense to use the same stats across the broad for weapons and armor, in the long run it was a bad idea and the PvP and PvE applications should have always been made to be adjusted separately. In any case, it's true, you can't please everyone. The key however is to please as many as you can. It's a complicated balancing act even without throwing in acceptable player loss vs profit potential, that's an ugly act all on its own.
