Exotic iron banner melee weapon (suggestion)
After I earned every part of the Iron banner Armor for my Titan I imagined how badass I would look with one of the axes of the Iron Lords and at this moment I thought how nice it would be to have an Iron Lord axe as an exotic sword type bounded to a questline. So here is my suggestion of the perks; description; questline steps and name:
Name: Legacy of the Iron Lords
Weapon type: Heavy axe
Art Style/Skin: The same like in D1
Animation: The same like in D1
Basic Perk (Fire of the Lords): "Long and heavy. Use RT/R2 to slam down the blades of the axe to create a Solar-Shockwave around yourself"
Weapon Perk (Long staff): Range is dramatical increased.
Exo Perk (Survival of the fittest): Multikills with "Fire of the Lords" regenerate life and reduce incoming damage.
Description: "You showed the Iron Lords over and over again how worthy you are. This is your own legacy" - Lord Saladin
Grimoire Card:

Questline Steps:
1st step: Create a fire-team and absolve 50 Iron banner matches as a group.
2nd step: Kill 15 Guardians in the Iron banner with a power loaded Sword.
3rd (and last) step: Finish 10 Iron banner Matches without losing ones. (/Edit 2: Win 100 Iron banner Matches. Active winstreaks let each new win count as 2 wins.)

Edit 1: Maybe Bungie could also include a corrupted SIVA-Axe Ornament with the release (if bungie use this idea)

1 ReplyGreat idea but winning 100 games is way too problematic for solo players . I think a better solution would be something like earn 10000 points in iron banner. Wins are worth 25, kills and captures are worth 5 points. Losses and assists are 2. This allows a better and enjoyable completion during solo play but still has a reasonably long grind. Let’s say you win the game and get 15 kills and 5 assists, with 3 caps. Pretty normal stats for a control or clash game. 25(win)+75(15 killsX5)+10(5 assistsX2)+15(3 capsX5). That’s 125 points. At that rate it’ll take exactly 80 games with that exact point scoring to complete it. Doing systems like this allow you to speed up progress by being with a team IE a larger chance at the 25 bonus win points, but don’t make it so terrible that you want to gorge your eyes out because your potato randoms can’t hit a stationary target with a rocket launcher. A good points ratio for things like this is generally Wins 5:1 Kill 1:1 Capture 1:1 Assist .5:1 Loss .5:1 Just my 2 cents

1 ReplyGood idea sir. Although, i dislike step 1 of the quest line. This focus on fire teams in D2 is incredibly annoying. Example: Rat king quest line. Im a solo player. True that its easy enough to find a fire team, but I dont want a fire team. I am not in a clan for a reason. My mindset is; If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. But again, good idea. Bump.

2 RepliesI like this idea, except for your part 3 quest step. Its not do-able with the current meta and unbalanced crucible. Font get me wrong, i like difficulty ;) but the difficulty should be fair. Nice idea for the rest.

For example, a sword for Warlock, axe for Titan, spear for hunters, something that makes the classes diverse. The sword has a very hard stab that focuses dps on a single target, moderate swinging, axe has the same rise of iron battleaxe special move that has good crowd control capabilities with heavy swings, the spear could be used to stab with poisoning, and can be throwed. It would also be cool if they made each class hold the weapons in their own unique way, like crown slitter and quickfang, but this time, Warlocks also get their own way of holding their melee weapon.

Chances are that one of those times a better team will come in. Moreover, others not doing it together, as can happen with these, would essentially need to do it over. Maybe a death limit per wins? Or change it by class: [spoiler] titan (knee bashes), hunter (out of stealth kills), and warlocks (empowering light orbs)[/spoiler]

Yeah they need varied melee weapons even if they really just work the same in principle. Axes, kamas, maces. They can all just work like a sword, but at least you’d have variety.

Screw that being an exotic it needs to be a legendary. Also I want my young wolves howl back. I miss my lava cracked sword.
