Destiny 1 was a bonding agent between my father and me, though I joined in Year 3. I sat and watched him play D1 for hours on end, marveling at the visuals and the story. I got my turn to experience the destiny universe with the release of Rise of Iron, and relished in each individual story. D1 had its downfalls, and so does D2. I'm waiting patiently for my turn to play, as I pre-ordered for PC this time instead of grabbing it for console. My dad has already ground out most of the D2 base game since last month, and I've had the pleasure of watching and learning.
But, again, both games have their downfalls. We complained about the gaps in the story, lack of content, and loot. We did the same thing to D1 as we're currently doing to D2, and if D3 becomes a reality, we'll do it to that game, too. Bungie's microtransaction piece-by-piece content release formula has clearly been doing them well, so we can complain all we like, but I highly doubt it will make them change their method.
So, anyone have something positive to say about the game?
I am still enjoying the game. I like the game play and the content in front of me. Do I wish we had some of the features from D1, yes. I hope they will be added back in over time but I can wait.
