Like if D2 is Disappointing ☹
I had fun at the beginning of the journey. Then I don't know what happened. The final nail in the coffin for me was the absence of prestige raid rewards.
This time around I had the belief that D2 would pick up where year 3 left off. Not a few steps behind vanilla. I am Jack's broken dream.
How are you guys finding the game at this point? How are you spending your time when online? Or are you taking a break till the expansion?
Edit: Trending. I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It isn't satisfying for me that this post has so many people in agreement. I respect that the developers put in long hours and massive amounts of energy to craft Destiny 2. I understand that the product at launch is a foundation that will be built on in time. However, when you review the constructive feedback and the similar ideas from a variety of Guardians. It is genuinely surprising that Bungie didn't anticipate these issues would eventuate. Sadly this culminates in a validation of the title. At this point in time "D2 is Disappointing".

I wish people would Stop comparing destiny 2 to vanilla destiny. This is a sequel they aren't starting a whole new game here. Don't you think bungie should have learned something over the last three years about what works and doesn't work in the game? By comparing it to vanilla destiny your essentially saying everything that happened in the last three years didn't matter. So you say that vanilla destiny wasn't that good and needed more but now it's ok for bungie to go and do the same thing all over again?

Disappointment sums it up. Stopped playing a few weeks ago and don't miss it. D2 has cured my Destiny addiction.

1 ReplyAnyone else feel like the end of the raid is basically how bungo is treating us now.... “here’s all of these mechanic heavy encounters that are aggravating to teach to ppl with no loot to back up the experience and no boss fight to feel like you’re making a difference” then you go down into the calus robot room down a long hall way of middle fingers and -blam!- yous “see you’re time was wasted B/c there are 1000000 other robots of the fat space hippo/frog” then the kicker happens the cheat at the end of the hall of faq you shitted out more tokens and hopefully your first pice of loot you’ve seen in the raid. Thank God there’s trials oh wait....

We had 3 years to marinate in Destiny 1. Seeing as it was the first in this series, D1 is Destiny. It's all we had and what we would eventually compare D2 to. They completely overhauled the game to the point that it doesn't feel like Destiny. Call me crazy but if we were genuinely enjoying, for the majority, the D1 experience . . . . . why not keep feeding that to us?

Overall I’m happy and I feel I got my money’s worth. The game has its problems for sure, but I’m ok backing off a bit and playing some other games. The gun play is fun enough that I’ll always come back once a week and play the Flashpoint. If they open up Crucible options and game modes I’d play that more.
