You have something running on your PC that caused the ban. They warned you all before during beta.

  • As far as I know Bungie never responded regarding the bans nor release any statements when this happened in the beta. Apparently from other posts they didn't even remove the bans that happened during beta. I certainly was assuming they would once they saw the number of refunds that were issued because of it.

  • Yeah my account got flagged on the last day of the beta. That's why I went into the launch today on a clean windows account with just only battle.net and destiny running.. apparently the ban still stuck even after purchasing the game. I should've redeemed the key on a separate account or just got it on console instead. Dumb of me to think they would've resolved this in the time between the end of beta and before launch.

  • This is good information. I was banned within the 1st 5 minutes on the 1st day of beta. Good to know that the bans were not lifted as I got a refund back then and needed to know if I should attempt to purchase the game again.

  • The software on my pc has NOT changed since I ran the beta. Beta was flawless. I even streamed the 15 hours I played the beta, again, in full accordance with Bungie's 'rules'. So this blanket 'users fault' idiom needs to stop. And considering I'm not only coming into this as a gamer and fan of Bungie's IP's, but I'm also coming at this from an engineering perspective. This smacks of piss poor planning and not in fact researching the common pc gaming market and actually looking into everything that runs in the background of 90% of the gaming market. While I am in fact very salty about this situation personally, I hope that Bungie comes back with a valid response to this issue, and not some rhetoric about it saying well, you're banned just for clicking on a play button and you don't deserve answers as a paying customer.

I'm in the same boat, gamer / fan of Bungie IPs but also from an engineering perspective what annoys me is that they didn't have any sort of warning system implemented.. even something primitive like League of Legend's bugsplat, force close the game and bring up a popup "Hey, sorry.. we've detected something interfering with the game and had to close the game, please ensure you have nothing that might be interfering.. overlays etc" Instead what we get is a "Your account is banned, please see the help section of our site about bans" and that's when you find out overlays can ban you ... once it's too late. I mean hell... today there's soo many programs that have overlays, some that even I find it annoying to close or they just "magically" find a way to turn themselves back on.. or a feature introduced in an update that it's just a lot of work to keep track of them all especially for someone who isn't as computer savvy. I really feel for those people the most, the casual players, the ones who don't know much about computers and don't check forums.
