this was originally a thread about PC users getting banned for no reason at launch, just like they did in the beta; i made a post back then to say that people were getting banned unfairly with the new anti-cheat system, i was told i was wrong - - cozmo has returned to re-affirm he stands in the same place as before
this thread is now being used to advocate a bungie response to much bigger problems, with much more support; i feel cozmo only replied to this thread because it was personal to him; old post in question :

Given the nature of this board, responding to any thread with 1,000+ upvotes simply means spending all of your time dealing with 1/1000th or so of your customer base, because they are united and active in terms of complaining about everything. For this board to be useful, it needs some serious moderation. I have posted this before, but why not list it again. 1 - Delete all usernames that are not associated with an XBL, PSN or PC equivalent account that has a verified Destiny purchase at some point since 2014. 2 - Only allow new accounts to sign up if they meet the same criteria. One account per such username. 3 - Allow exceptions in rare cases. A Bungie employee needs to manually sign off and give a reason. An example of a reason could be to shield a celebrity's identity or to protect someone from harassment. 4 - Close the OffTopic forum (because it is the mothership of a large portion of the complainers). You can bring it back in a year or two after its current population moves on to another board. 5 - Calling for a boycott on Bungie purchases = 1 day suspension. Second time = 1 week suspension. Third time = ban. Do that and this board will still have a lot of complaining, but it'll be honest, normal complaining of the type any board would have. At present, it's a mix of legitimate complaints, and trolls with a clear purpose since 2014 of causing Destiny to fail (so their little clubhouse on bungie.net wouldn't be overrun with new people).

I remember that time a guardian got banned on Xbox. He swore that all he did was go out of the map and find a dlc ghost, he got the entire forum believing he did not cheat. The community managers were hung by their necks and everyone went crazy. It turns out the player was in fact lying, and did mod the game in an attempt to earn locked items. All I'm saying is it seems history is repeating itself. Let's say roughly a million copies have been sold for PC (that's a low number) Yet only 400 guardians have been banned. That's an exceptionally low number of active guardians being banned. I refuse to believe every single guardian is innocent. There may be a few exceptions but after seeing past experiences. I just can't believe all of them.

11 RepliesIt’s kinda hard to cheat in a game that you haven’t even installed yet. I was reading up on a lot of the reports, and there was quite a surprising number of players that had only gotten to the character selection screen when getting banned Even more surprising was the number of players that [b]only[/b] had the Blizzard app and the game installed, and still got banned I think Bungie needs to rework their security measures. A lot of common harmless apps are getting players banned. Some of the apps are just for streaming gameplay or chatting with friends. If Bungie wants to stay in business, I suggest they fix it before everyone leaves

I feel like no matter what Cozmo says he will get an immense amount of hate, so I think that's the top reason I can think of on why hes not answering most of the threads that are trending. INB4 'They delivered an unfinished game and broke promises so he deserves the hate" I mean... yeah, this game sucks, but if we all want this game to be fixed we gotta be a little more forgiving, and I understand the frustration since D1 was really amazing, I really do miss 6v6 crucible, and strike specific loot, but all we can do so far is just give constructive feedback and let Bungo do what they do, yeah they had 3 years to prepare for D2, but its pointless to get angry at that since the game is already out, all we can do now is wait and hope for the best or move on to other games, not gonna lie as soon as Monster Hunter World drops, I might call it quits with D2 if it still that way by then, but we will see.
