I've seen plenty of people saying they were banned who aren't using any third party apps at all. "Fresh Windows Install, nothing else running, banned" is frequently posted. Until Bungie actually says why it's happening, it's just anecdotal evidence and posts like the OPs are just more noise for people to sift through.
