Chapter 4: Into the Mind ’Ah...Infested...species that once undeniably destroyed the known galaxy. One of the purposes of a Tenno was to wipe the Infestation clean off the face of whatever place they wanted it to be. Whether they were once Grineer, or Corpus, or a new entity in itself, these Infested all follow the same hive-type of mind, similar to that of Earth bees...whether as to where the best and queen of such Infestation may be that had corrupted the lost planet...is quite uncertain.” - Admiral Vox Alias, Head Of the 100th Corpus War Fleet, location unknown. (Khalosh, Resistance Base) It had...for the most part, been a rough start. The Mandalorians lost one of their best in a battle with Imperial soldiers and bandits. The second-in-command of the Imperial army got away with whom seemed to be another high-ranking Imperial official via shuttle at the Void Portal. It just so happened that the three groups, along with JT, Treyman, And Shila would meet in the central command center. Along with them were Sun-Rei, who was using sign language to speak to Clover, the two of them talking about what they were doing for the past couple years. Tug and Cipher, two member’s of Clover’s squadron would be playing some type of hologram game with Checkers and Vandal. Trench and Oracle would’ve been at the window, talking to one another in Chinese. All whilst Boomer kisses every single one of his Grenades. And then there was Velinnea, who, with Tethys (their new Jedi ally), Bariss (their new Tenno ally), Nathaniel (their Mandalorian ally other than Velinnea herself) and Victoria, who were staring at a massive map of Tatakai, specifically that of Khalosh, where the Imperials has holed themselves in their specific sector, them being placed on the defensive, rather than the offensive. Velinnea’s second in command, Richter, walked in. “We ready?” She asked them. “Yes ma’am.” The second in command told her, as she slammed her hands on the table to catch everyone’s attention. “Clem.” Was all the specter of the very small Grineer said. “Alright, listen up people; with the help of some Scouts, we may have a way of breaching and invading the Imperial stronghold here on Tatakai...but it may involve going into the heart of Infested territory.” She told them, waiting for any type of question or response.
Open to Orn, Royal, And JT. In that order.
————————— (Khalosh, Imperial Sector) Sighing at all of the shit that had happened over the past few weeks since the Impeiral’s primary invasion, Katya had proceeded to lay in her room, overlooking the Imperial Sector with a bit of...worry. Katya had saw her leader Kiyala acting very strange...almost like she was possessed or insane, and was worried about the future of possible stability within the only place they had left. She had called Charlia up to talk...without any type of further interruption or Imperial interference.
Open to Orn again, here.
—————————— Kiyala had begun to hear Aeron’s voice again, all while trying not to worry about anything else that had basically happened since the first invasion. She constantly felt migraines and headaches going up to her head, almost like some type power was kept and locked away behind something that she herself never knew. But she also heard something different. ”...The fate of every god, and destroyer will be complete annihilation...” “We...are simply shadows...who will destroy those who believe themselves to be real...” “The Shadow Master will Return... In a bunch of echoey voices, unaware of Aeron, this was what Kiyala feared more... ...because she herself hadn’t seen it’s true power.
Open to Vile, here. Maybe have a couple of your representatives come? Or maybe Aeron talking in his head.
•
Alright. I'll start off with Aeron in her head, but then might bring some of my people in later on. If that works for you
Hmm. It would have been more fun if I had actually invaded your city, instead of just a premonition. No matter. You really have no choice when it comes to doing what I tell you to. After all, I am a part of your consciousness now The man behind the voice, of course, was known to certain organizations on Tatakai as Aeron Tenebrae, a mysterious being that came to this planet for unknown reasons. Of course, it was later reviled that he was some sort of trans-dimensional god by his sister, only known by the alias of Ana. It was uncertain what either of their motives were, but the notion that the Empire was caught in something bigger, and therefore they can no longer escape from, was beginning to become more plausible Besides, even with this mysterious power you have found yourself hearing, what makes you think that you could defeat me? I mean it's just... While the voices didn't know he was there yet, he could definitely hear them. He had managed to keep himself hidden to them, even when addressing them directly. He heard them again, and he was beginning to grow annoyed Oh would you just shut up already? I'm getting tired of hearing the same boring lines like "We will kill everything" and "The Shadow Master will return" Like anyone really gives a shit about your shadow master. Really. Just think on that thought for a bit
Going sort of comedic in tone. Aeron may be evil, but he is quite sarcastic and can be funny at times
•
It’s of no problem.
Kiyala had heavily sighed, trying to ignore both voices. She looked at her necklace given to her by Aeron, as her Imperial forces were stuck in a multi-front war. The growing Resistance coming from the abandoned sector of Khalosh. To Aeron’s own army. And of course, fear of Dojo forces intervening in the war. And on top of that, she had to worry about the growing number of Infestation growing in the abandoned sectors of Khalosh, threatening to assimilate anyone and everyone into their growing species. Even that of gods such as Aeron and the Orokin, whom were hiding beyond the now deactivated Void Portal were still under the threat of the Infestation. “Would both of you shit up?!” She finally yells, the echoey voice going silent.

  • Fine. But you and I both know this war will not end swiftly. The Infestation, the Resistance, the Dojo. Victory is nigh impossible. What is important now is who stands when the whirlwind ends, and what they do with the ashes and bones left behind by everyone else... And he meant that, truly. But what he didn't say was the fate of those who remained, who would soon be devoured by the darkness that waited for the sunset of peace to show its true form
I don't think he can be assimilated. And by that I mean, I'm not sure if his lore supports it. He's not, alive, per say. To be truthful, saying that he exists is a false statement in itself...
• Kiyala simply sighed, staring at the skies of the Imperial Sector in front of her. “For a part of my conscious, you do seem adamant about me...why is that? What makes me so...special from the rest?” She asked Aeron, staring at the stars glowing in the city. “And why do you try to destroy a place when you could simply control it? Never drains resources, and simply just allows for you to create more people...”

  • He chuckled You see, you are not special in the slightest. No one is. You're simply a more... vital piece in the game. What you become is something that will change everything. A flash of pain would course through Kiyala, and her nose would bleed a little As for the latter question, why hold a planet when it has no value? People are easy to come by, and can be turned quickly. Hm. That reminds me, why do you think I haven't ever been betrayed?

  • She covered the nose bleed up, panicking for a little bit. "Says the person who thinks there aren't people more powerful than him." She had told Aeron. "There's always going to people more powerful than any person."

  • There may be. But for now, you are stuck with me... A great pain flashed through her head, accompanied with fragmented images of future events. A city burning, a planet dying, and something stranger. Someone in a metal mask orchestrating the first wave, the initial army that acted as a spearhead for the real thing. It seemed... familiar in a way. Wait, that couldn't be right. She hadn't seen them before, except at a brief encounter in an initial meeting... The pain faded, and she was able to refocus Hmm. Whatever thing is in your head is good at stopping me from doing anything to you. Luck is on your side my friend. But time... time always rots everything. Eventually Kiyala will come to an end, and a new person will be born from the ruins and the ash. One way or another

  • She mostly breathed a bit more hard due to the recollection of unknown events. “Then I’m guessing you also forgot that people could change time? Or are you so confident in your abilities to worry about any of it?”

Hm. Maybe. But if that were the case, how come it's already happened? Here. You'll see what I mean, just wait... And then there was a knock at the door...
Someone associated with Aeron coming to see her. May lead to a sort of, adventure, if you so choose
A stormtrooper guard walked in quickly "Ma'am. There's someone here to..." He was cut off by the gunshot that rang from behind him, the trooper's body falling onto the ground. Behind him stood a man in a nice suit and fedora, a gun at his side. He gestured, the door closing and locking so that no one could intervene. Even though he was important, she couldn't really tell what he looked like... And then he pointed it at her "Listen. Listen very carefully to the words I'm saying. If you try anything, I'll make sure we level this entire goddamn city before you can even blink. Is that clear?"

  • She pointed her D-12 blaster at him, her wearing black jeans, and a black hoodie, seemingly almost like she didn’t look like the leader of an Imperial Remnant. She sighed, blaster still raised at him. “...Fine.” She had said, lowering the blaster.

"Good. My superior wishes to see you, and would rather see you alive and unharmed. Of course, things can't always go our way..." He laughed "All you have to do is exactly what I say. There will be a passenger ship arriving in exactly three minutes. When it does, let it dock. You will accompany me down there and board it, and we shall take it up to the command ship we have stationed on the other side of the planet. From there, it's up to them to decide what they do with you. Keep in mind that if you fail to do this, I cannot promise the safety of your Empire..."
Option One: Obey and do as he says, but at the risk Kiyala will not be able to unsee/forget the things that will happen. More wear on her as a character... Option Two: Refuse and shoot him, at the consequence of a full-blown assault against the city Up to you. Really just your preference. The first one is very weird and fun for me. The second... well... that's self-explanatory
• She held the blaster steadily in her hands, ready to shoot if necessary. She finally slowly lowered it, aggravated by what she was doing. “Fine.” She replied, waiting for the shuttle to come.

  • The shuttled arrived, and would be authorized by Kiyala to land in Hanger Bay 12. She would then accompany the strange man down to it, and would've encountered one of Aeron's ships. It was small, but large enough to hold at least twenty passengers. It's hidden door was open, being guarded by two sentries. The man gestured for her to enter... "Go on inside, if you would."

The door closed as the rest entered, leaving the ship illuminated by the dullest of orange light coming from the floor... "Neutralize the subject, now." Something blunt hit her head, and everything went to black... ------------------------------------- Unknown Amount of Time Later, Unknown location She would awake in a cold, stone cell, light shining from the tiny barred window that cells usually seem to have. She was bound in dull grey chains and stripped of her weapons. But where was she exactly? There were footsteps, and the wooden door opened with a creak. A stranger in a metal mask walked into the room, and towards her... "Your awake. Good." The voice was distorted, but seemed almost, feminine. The way they carried themselves was...strange. Almost similar to Kiyala... But how? Were they some sort of commander officer? Whatever this was, it wasn't right. Not in the slightest...

  • “F*** me.” Was her reply, looking around the cell. Touching its walls, anything. She went through her personnel for her D-12, or anything in particular that she had, before looking up to this unknown female...thing. “Who...are you?” She asked.

  • They didn't respond, instead simply moving closer to her. They put a hand to her face, inspecting her. It stared at her through the mask, emanating a look of either sadness and misery, or anger and delusion... Witness. That was what it seemed to say, although she couldn't be sure. It moved away and closed the door, as Kiyala would once again fade out of consciousness...
She doesn't have her gear, but she'll be able to get it back
------------------------------------- Unknown Amount of Time Later... She woke up again, this time with her chains broken and the cell door wide open. They had been so cautious before, why not now?

  • She slowly got up, looking around her for any type of tricks. "This is another one of those dreams, isn't it?" She thought to herself, putting her hood off and began walking out the door, cautious should anything happen.

There was nothing but an empty hallway, cold and ruined with winter. There were, people. Sporadic as they were. They were twitching, fading from color to grey then back again. Where the -blam!- was she? "Welcome home, Kiyala. You Traitor. And False Leader of a Dying Empire. Come find me." A voice said, vile and made of merely the wisping winds of the winter air. Each word echoed across the hall in an ominous tone...

  • "You will die here. You know that. There is nothing you can do to delay the inevitable..." Down the hall, she saw some sort of metallic... thing. It was like a person, but bird-like and made of clockwork. The small white lights that it had for eyes turned to her, and began to glow red. It let out a piercing screech, and lit up in grey-ish white energy is it lifted into the air. Those people that were twitching between dimensions suddenly stabilized, and it was reveled what they were. Imperials. But how? They looked at her almost lazily, as if they were living corpses that couldn't feel. They raised their weapons, and fired...
