So if player are not being banned for these then how are pc players being banned before ever booting up the game or having issues with invidia shadowplay? Isn’t invidia a partner with bungie for this game? Not saying any of the bans unjustified but I think what everyone is looking for is more clarity vs just saying that overlays are not getting people banned. I’ve read the security article but it doesn’t clearly explain why some of these people who’ve done nothing are being banned, as the article says they are all manual bans meaning someone made an effort to band so many people at launch. I think instead of saying what’s not banning people someone should explain exactly what is going on. People want to trust a dev to keep cheaters out of the game and yes preventing tools from injecting code into the game say for a frame rate reference or to monitor their graphics card on screen isn’t bad it’s a tool to make sure their pc is handling the game properly. Why not release a list of approved tools that you guys will allow to work with the game instead of just saying nope none of that. They spend tons of money for high end machines and more to play the game and then banned because they want to make sure their investment stays functioning

  • 1) Some people were banned in the beta and possibly some immediately after the beta from investigations that started late. They just didn't know it yet because they didn't or couldn't log in since it only lasted a week. 2) Some people were banned in the beta and assumed they wouldn't be banned still because they thought it was only for the beta. 3) Some people are not banned, they're suspended. People throw around the word "ban" incorrectly when they were told "temporarily banned", all the time. They either don't know or don't care that there's actually a difference. 4) Some people lie and say they're innocent when they aren't. Happens all the time. 5) Some people think they're not going to get caught for anything by turning off cheat stuff they use for other games that could have been still detected existing on their computer. Some game developers do that. 6) Some people think it's thousands when it is still only a few hundred who were permanently banned, because some people exaggerate.

  • They actually admitted a "few groups" were banned mistakenly and are still checking to see if anyone was mistankely banned meaning that number of groups can still go up. But yeah keep believing what bungo drips to you

  • What response changed? The only thing I saw was them reiterating what they already said and the only part that “changed” was that they said 4 people were unbanned and that they’d continue investigating if there’s more.

That group was the 4 players Cozmo already said. There could be more, but don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s anywhere near hundreds or thousands..

  • It doesn't say a new group, a bigger group, or different group than the 4 people who were mentioned, so it's not clear who they're referring to. They do say, however, that that group was already unbanned by the time of the update, so where are they? Why don't we see anyone saying they got unbanned? Clearly it wasn't a big group if it was more than those 4 people or else somebody would have spoken up.

  • I saw several people say they were no longer banned today and that update was done today whereas the 4 that were unbanned already. So yes they assumed we had enough brain cells to piece it together without saying they -blam!-ed up publicly
