So everyone remember Chris? That emo dude with nice shoes from House of Wolves and then Rise of Iron. Well, basically, in my opinion, he was one of the developers that started to make D1 a better game. House of Wolves was (again in my opinion) the start of the turning point for the fundamental changes D1 would go through, for the better. Sir Barrett blesses us once again. All hail the king.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.

Come on people, Chris Barrett is just a messenger, it could have been anyone to announce this, yes he's in charge of the live team it seems now but I'm sure it was a decision made by many people not just Chris.

Well, asides from feeling kind of happy. Im also skeptical. I may sound negative but im trying to stick with facts. Facts such as Mr Barrets response is nothing more than response. Nothing more, nothing less. There are words such as "improvement", for Bungie, D2 is an improvement from D1 so honestly, its just another "we are listeting" answer. Luke was also praised for the taken king and look what the end product of D2 ended being. Now will everyone start making posts about Barret and previuos DLCs and how is he going to save D2? I guess so. And i hope so. Again, i may sound negative , and i think i am. But at the same time i just think us players should learn what hype and trusting blindly on Bungie, its developers, marketting, etc did to us and how it ended right now with D2. I think the fact they the comunity had to pick up mr Barret from out of knowwhere is actually a bad message. Its like they know the project team messed up so bad that no one wants to really here about Luke, Cozmo and Deej who doesnt even play the game as we all know. Anyway, let hope that sometime ( because early 2018 its like the most mediocre response ever ) enough worthy changes become implemented. So for many players its like an indefinite hiatus till we "may" get a decent product. PS: please dont bother with replies complaning about me complaning about people complaining. Its getting irrational lately with everyone getting salty because others opinions. love

Its a little too late at this point this will be dlc and theyre gonna charge for it. Why should i pay anpther 30$ for them to fix the game. This is what others have been talking about as it is on the forums theyll fix the game theyre just gonna try and charge people through the nose to do so. If they announce that all this will be free dlc then yea when the game is boinked beyond repair ill consider getting it again as it stands i already traded my copy in to gamestop before the game value drops more than it already has.

Settle down Sally. I'm not going to log in until things are fixed... Until then, I'm spending my time and money elsewhere. That includes future dlc. I'm happy they fired the current Luke Smith team. (they had no idea wtf they were doing) I'm still 100% skeptical they can fix this game considering its very core is rotten (no RNG, bad pvp meta, no end game reason to grind or play) People continued to play during HoW because Trials came out... It was -blam!-ing genius and fun. Where is that in D2? We don't even get a -blam!-ing mercy and we're playing 30 minute matches of Survival lol. Good luck carrying.

My honest toxic free opinion: I am somewhat happy that they have said something, but it all seemed so vague that I almost wonder if they have even started on those above mentioned changes. Also, given this game's current state, I feel as though their idea of "better" is pretty questionable. For them, better rewards for a loot sector for example may seem positive at first, however it may something as small as +1 planetary token and +1 blue. With regard to the exotics, yes duplicates are an issue, but fixing that will not make existing exotics any more special. They're already bland and forgetful as they are now. Any changes to crucible (which is what I really look forward to) are not the ones we really want, i.e., 6v6, rumble etc. It will still be the same 4v4 Mida firing squad meta. The "Meta Multi-Tool" In my personal opinion this game needs a massive (and I mean massive) influx of weapons and armor. Weapons and armor that are special, unique and fun. Give me planet specific armor and weapons crafted from its own materials. Can you imagine a dwarf star sword, tungsten armor? How awesome would that be? The current loot pool is an afterthought of bland weapons and armor-not to mention that it's also very little. How many weapons in the D2 loot pool are you actually excited for? The only ones I thought were cool were coldheart (reminds me of captain cold, I am a huge flash fan lol) and sweet business (who doesn't love a friggin mini-gun) Please make the game more diverse and complex at least at end game. I hope that is what you're referring to when you mentioned something to do for hardcore players.

My clan " c l o u t 9 " is a new clan in the hundreds of thousands already on bungie.net, we are pvp centered clan, but pve is also proving to be quite fun ( so well do both )! We are a veryyyyy small clan, only having 3 members ( one of the 4 is my toon ). Anyone can join ( Any race, age, ethnicity, ECT. ) and have some fun! As long as you actively play 3 days a week for 1 hour at a time, you're all set to join! Me and the c l o u t 9 crew would love to have to have some new members! Feel free to pm for questions :)

this is a great thing. I think maybe they should have let him do it from the get go. I love the game and what it could be but what disapoints me is they left out all the good stuff. it's like they didn't learn anything. d1 was in a great place and they didn't build on it. Please help this game become the game it can be.

Based on the unanimous response from PC players with how crisp and quick the game feels on PC, I am convinced that the 30FPS coupled with their coding has somehow hobbled the console to feel sluggish and sloppy. I have not seen a single PC person who played console state otherwise, they are all saying it's so much quicker, crisper and smoother. That said, until they address the FPS on the console the game will always feel off, especially for PVP. A lot can change over time as happened with D1 patches but certain things like FPS, ranked and unranked playlists, redesigning class trees, randomized perks, TTK, and dedicated servers are not quick fixes and many will likely never see the light of day. To think otherwise is pure delusional. It is obvious to me if you want a crisp and smooth D2 experience you have to play on the PC.
