All of this means nothing.
All the live team did in D1 was keep the player base hanging on with re-skinned content, holiday BS, and the promise of D2. Look what we got. Like sure, Bungie I'll pull down my pants and bend over for you again, even though last time I did it you lied and it didn't end good for me. I'll trust you this time.
All of these "improvements" to come are so vague they could mean anything.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
(This could just mean higher drop rate of purple or exotic engrams engrams. That is a change to the system and rewards)
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
(This too could just mean something like a guaranteed exotic.)
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
(Like it sounds, just higher drop rates for stuff in the game 95% of the player base already has)
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
(Cool so anywhere from 3 to 6 months. So why wasn't this in the game already? Why wasn't so much that was obviously so good about D1 in the game already? D2 was suppose to be the culmination of everything learned the past 3 years)
I can go on and on.

You still complain when they are planning on making on improvements ... can't win or please everyone. I for one welcome these changes.
