Rise of Fenrir: Proluge: Gerald's grandest mistake
Centuries ago:
Many had heard of the ancient Mayan civilization and their disappearance though, there was one question. How did an entire civilization vanish with no remnants to speak of. There were a few immortal in tatakai that may have stories of knowing but none knew more of their extinction than the time keeper that seemed slightly obsessed with fine wine and violence.
He remembered that fateful day all too well. A ship sailing out to venture, the landing abroad the sandy coast then trekking through the woods. Gerald was nothing more than a political prisoner the captain bought to be no more than fodder in the event that something did happen. He was handed nothing more than a knife, a rusty pistol, and the worst armor they could find on the ship. Surely to meet his end yet still he followed the men as it was all he could do.
Eventually they found signs of a civilization. Strange architecture carved in stone and what seemed to be a temple in the distance. With little warning the crew found spears, arrows and hatchet flying through the air striking them down in a surprise ambush. The locals made it clear they didn't want guests but whether an act of foolishness or determination the crew pushed through razing the forest with flames and musket fire.
As they overpowered the Mayan, it was then they found an ritual site with an strange artifact. What looked like a large pocket watch from the near future sat upon a table along with an unreadable stone tablet. At the time no one knew what to think and fearing the device, they ordered the prisoner to take it just in case. What happened next was unusual.
It was as if time rewrote itself to a point in which the prisoner Gerald and the strange artifact was never there and he had seemingly vanished from the timeline. After seeing the world from beginning to end Gerald had all the time he could ever need to learn the language on the slab. It warned of Fenrir, a massive wolf whom would devour planets.
Now:
Many years later Gerald sat back in the dojo. The time keeper relaxing to vintage wine and calm music. It was disrupted by the irritating ringing of a pocket watch. He flipped it open and sighed. A nearby planet was no longer in the sky to see. Seemed he would have to give bringing the old beast down another shot.
Open. Probably going to copy some of this to put on Gerald's bio instead of his old one.
