Thanks for clearing up why the change is messed up. Reddit, and other players here aren't as detailed(I missed the last rally) in explaining what was wrong with this change.
Let me get this straight so instead of rewarding a fireteam with tokens for destroying enemies resources together, they remove the tokens from the resources and put three tokens in the treasure chests instead? Meaning less tokens? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The fireteam did not recieve tokens before. Only the person that got the final shot on the resource got the token, so running with a fireteam was actually counter productive. The previous event the best way to get tokens was to run a particular lost sector by yourself, run in shoot all resources running a circular route, stop at the end die on purpose, that would reset the sector if you die in the right spot you would respawn and repeat. They basically changed it so people cannot cheese it like that anymore.
