"I'd love to. Always good to know how to protect yourself." She said smiling a bit, before clueing into the compliment. She blushed a bit as she realized the last part. She usually got embarrassed a little when people complimented her, adding a barely visible blush to her face

"I'm, ah.. oh gods, I'm embarrassing.. I'm sorry, for the remark, but.." "But" would never be finished, as Niki silently blushed, before patting Eris on the back. "Let's.. go. Y'know, before the Trayven guys notice us. Then they won't stop picking on me for a month."

Edited by Lordbakon: 11/6/2017 3:56:06 AM"Yeah. They seem like the kind to do that. Don't need the negativity." She said smiling a bit, as she stood up. She had finished her drink enduring the conversation, so she paid for that

As Eris and Niki would leave the bar, they would escape the attention of the local Trayven soldiers. They had appeared to be simply chugging down their liquor, still cheering and whooping with glee. Fun bunch. "You don't happen to have a place where we can train, do you?" Niki would question, arms crossed over her chest as she looked up at Eris. She seemed to be slightly shaking, not out of a fearfulness, nor because it was cold. No, she seemed excited.
-
"Well, we could train at my place if you want. It's smaller but if I moved a few things we'd have enough room. We could always just head to one of the courtyards too, if you wanted." She said smiling a bit. She was happy to see the girl excited, and was a bit happy herself. She was putting her past to good use, making a bad thing good in a way.
-
"A courtyard in the Dojo, right?" Niki would question, before she shrugged a little. "Sure. That'll be alright.. let's hope that the members of the Dojo don't.. Before I say anything, you aren't a Dojo member, are you? I don't have anything against the place. I'm more worried about the Dojo having a thing against me, and the stationed Trayven army.."
-
"Don't worry, I don't have anything against anyone. I care more about who people actually are." She said smiling a bit. "Though we could always head to my place first. You're not too much shorter than me, I could probably find a pair of clothes for you instead of your military standards. I should probably grab training gear anyways."
-
"I think your place will be alright, then. This garb, the military stuff.. it's alright, I guess. But regular clothing would probably tend to work better, so you lead the way." Indeed, Niki would allow her newest companion, perhaps friend (Eris was practically a friend at this rate), to lead her to where she lived. A change in apparel that was more suited for maneuverability, and she would be fine.
-
"Ok. Follow me then." She said smiling a bit. She begin to walk in the direction of her home, which wasn't really too far from their current location. She would consider Niki a friend, happy to have met her as she led them to her abode. The home was nothing very special, something comfortable but affordable to one person working. She approached it, unlocking the door and letting Niki in.

Edited by Weeaboo Of War: 11/6/2017 8:40:31 PMNiki didn't mind the size of the home as she walked in, nor however fancy it was. As long as the homeowner took pride in it's shape and form.. she liked it enough. Additionally, Eris' home was comfy, in it's own ways, and that simply made her beam in a little more joy. "This is nice.. thank you, again. You're.. kinda the first friend I've had, outside of family. Ever." Niki blushed a little in embarrassment, at that remark. Sure, the Trayvens were all heavily different, personality-wise, but she loved each and every member of it's household still. And she had found to enjoy Eris and her company as well. "Mind if I sit?"
-
"No problem. Always happy to be a friend to someone and help with whatever they need. No need to be embarrassed." She said as she shut the door behind them. The house entered into a small hallway, before turning into a living room. Another hall way lead to three more rooms. A kitchen straight down the hall could be seen, but the other two rooms were hidden from view. There was a basement as well, but it was small and really only used as a pantry. "I need to move a few things in the living room to make space for training, and grab some training gear for us. If you want to change out of your army gear, you can borrow some of my clothes. They should fit. And you might want to take off any foot or arm gear for training, it's not much extra material but it can seriously screw someone up."
-
"Okay.. I'll undress in the bathroom. Doubt that you'd want to see.. bits and pieces, if you catch my drift." Niki would nod a little, bowing her head as she briefly blushed, before she would go to retrieve some of Eris' clothing. She would take a simple white t-shirt, a tank top, and a pair of sky blue athletic shorts. She then descended into the bathroom, before returning to the living room after a bit, the new outfit bounded to her body. The military uniform and the thin armoring that she wore was kept in her arms, the clothing folded in a fantastically neat fashion.
-
Eris had moved the furniture so they would have a good amount of space to train, the carpet on the floor providing enough padding there. Eris hadn't changed, though she had rolled her pants up to the knees, wearing gear like this https://imgur.com/a/it86f on her arms and legs, another set for Niki in her hands as she saw her come out. She just didn't want to take any chances with anyone getting too hurt ""Looks great." She said, as she saw Niki come back out. It was visible on her arms Eris still wore the coverings she had on earlier for her arms and legs, though one might be curious as to why as no one else around wore similar ones. "Hey, while you were in there, you didn't look in the bottom drawer, right?" She asked, handing Niki the training gear.
-
"Well, um.. I needed to use the bathroom. Number one. And I needed some paper, so.." Niki clapped her hands together nervously. "I'm so sorry, I needed to find some paper, and I.. forget it. Gods, I wish I wasn't an awkward idiot.." The bаstard girl would shake a little more, as she would then take the pieces of armor. Niki had clearly been embarrassed, now strapping the pieces in immediate silence with Eris looming over here.
-
"N-no, that fine." She said, laughing a bit as the girl got a little nervous. It wasn't an insulting laugh, but the way a friend would when a joke was told. "I meant in my room, the dresser that you got the clothes out of." She was hoping the response would be no, hoping she hadn't opened Eris' private drawer. In it was mainly things like undergarments, though a few other things were hidden...
-
"I-I only saw the undergarments. It looked like there was more, b-but.. Oh, Eris, I'm so sorry.. I-I was looking for more comfortable things, and I took advantage of your stuff that looked a little older, and.. forgive me, again.. L-Look, I.. I should leave if I made you angry. Really, you've been too kind.." It was as if Niki would break down in embarrassment, now kneeling down as if begging forgiveness from Eris. Eris could now see Niki for what she truly was - apologetic, clumsy, and afraid.
-
Eris didn't look angry, more embarrassed than anything. "N-no, it's ok. Let's just forget about that, ok?" She said, her face having turned a little red as it was brought up. She regained her composure a bit as she offered a hand to help Niki up. "Cmon, we still have some training to do. No harm no foul, right?"
-
"Right.. I've never heard that saying before. Always "no pain, no gain".. ...I never gained a lot." Niki smiled a little, still blushing like a bright red cherry, though she seemed more comfortable around Eris. She took her hand, bringing herself up as she nodded kindly. "So, what first?"
-
"The person who taught me how to fight always said stance was key, so I think we should start there. I've learned over the years, a small target is hardest to hit." She said. She first took a stance like one would see a boxer in a movie: body straight forwards, hands up a bit. "First, never point your body straight st your opponent while not attacking. It makes it easy for you to be hit," She made the correction, turning so her front shoulder was really all that pointed towards Niki. "Hands up by your face so you don't get knocked out with a jaw strike, there's a reason people call it the easy button." She said jokingly "I also like to bring hey head down a bit just to be safe. Let's your shoulder act like a shield a bit more." Again, she made the corrections to her own stance, her head now being a very small target to hit. Her lower ribs were still a bit open, but that's what blocking was for.
-
"I think I got it.. here." Niki would soon take up the position as her right shoulder was tilted towards Eris, aimed towards her trainer. She would then bring her two tight fists upwards into a blocking motion, mimicking Eris' own form.
-
She smiled a bit as the other woman took the stance. "Yeah, that's good. Makes you harder to hit. If it hadn't worked for me, I really wouldn't be here giving a lesson, would I?" She said jokingly. "Another thing: make sure you stay mobile. Don't sit in one spot for too long. Easy way to get hit." She said. She began bouncing a bit, not jumping into the air but bouncing just a bit off the ground. "Bouncing a little helps you stay mobile, let's you move in any direction when you need to."
-
"Yeah.. I'm happy that you are here, though. You're the first person that's bothered to help me in actual combat.." With that, the bаstard girl would smile a little, before beginning to mimic the slight bouncing. It would take many tries to effectively get to Eris' point, but she would appear rather adept in it soon enough, her position kept, her fists still raised defensively.
-
"No problem." He said, the smile turning from a happy one to a caring one, one of compassion. "I want people to know how to protect themselves. Make sure people don't think they can do whatever they want to anyone they feel like." She says. "Alright, let's work some basic techniques. Sometimes the basics will save your life. You've probably seen the moves several times though. A jab is best used to distract an opponent." She said, throwing a quick punch with her lead hand. It wasn't close enough to even nearly hit Niki, angled so she could see the motion.
-
With that, Niki would practice and halt a few jabs towards Eris. None of them would come close to actual, legitimate punches on her, but they were steadily becoming structured well. Niki clearly didn't have much for muscular mass, but she could adapt and learn quickly.
-
She could see Eris was happy, seeing her pick up the moves fast. Eris' strange gold eyes almost glistened for a moment in the light. "Nice. Not many people learn the right structure that fast." She says. She took the stance again, feet shoulder width apart. This time, instead of with the front hand, she twisted her body, throwing a punch with her back one. It clearly had a good deal more force behind it. "Now, a jab is great to make your opponent move, but once you have an opening, a cross punch is a good way to make them hurt. Generally, I's aim for the jaw or neck with something like this." She said, repeating it a few times so Niki could get the motion down.
-
Niki would nod once more, as she made sure to get her feet shoulder-width apart. She had recognized that from practicing with magic for so long, as long-range casting utilized balance, the environment, and the range quite heavily. Though she obviously couldn't apply that here. The first few punches with her left arm were weaker, but over time, they would begin to grow in strength and focus, as Niki smiled to herself in a successful manner. "I think.. no, it's too early to think I'm any good, but I certainly have a start. Thanks to you, Eris." She smiled, light green eyes meeting Eris' golden pupils as if she genuinely intended the thanks. And hell, she did indeed.
